What do you think about tipping for grocery deliveries?

The grocery delivery services are putting a lot of pressure on customers now to tip the drivers, and they recommend 18%, and they have tip options up to 35%.

I already pay a high fee just for the delivery service, the groceries are expensive of course, and now they want another 18%? On my order today of $237 that would have been an extra $42! ever at 10% it's $23. My order the other day was $38 so that tip would have been $7. So today I'm supposed to pay $35 more because the driver carried 5 additional bags to my porch? Drivers who are already making $20-25 an hour?

Multiply that times however much you spend on groceries. Even if groceries were only $237 a week the tip on that would be around $2,200 a year!

And if you don't do it, the drivers can cause all kinds of trouble because you're leading them right to your front door.

What's next, tipping your Amazon delivery guy because Bezos won't pay them a living wage? Tipping your dental hygienist because she's a 1099 contractor instead of an employee of the dental practice? Tipping your bus driver? Tipping the UPS guy? Tipping the mechanic who fixes your car?

When are the stupid assholes of America gonna wake up and realize that toxic extreme Capitalism is eating away at their economic livelihoods and it's not some coincidence. It is a carefully planned and orchestrated assault on everyone outside the 1% to make sure you never build any wealth and live your lives mired in debt to the "money men", the Capitalists at the top of the pyramid scheme. They want a peasant class they can exploit from the cradle to the grave.

And it's happening while the idiots who keep voting for it are the frogs boiling to death while someone slowly increases the temperature of the water.

People need to learn that the more they do for themselves, the more money they will save… money that is after tax so that to pay that $42 you would have to earn $52.50 at a low 20% tax rate.

The same with household repairs, especially easy ones like painting a room. But going to the store and fetching your own items, especially from stores that will pre-package a set of goods from a shopping list, doesn’t get any easier.

I think it’s great because they are likely poor people and don’t get paid much from the job… so every delivery is a chance to make a little more money.
