Personally I'd have spit roasted a moose.

They should have been a bit more brave and put Russian salad on the menu (sometimes referred to as Olivier salad, and of course it's not of Russian origin).
American lean bison steak instead of Filet Mignon.
Halibut Olympia seems like the right choice, if it was made from Alaskan halibut layered on a bed of caramelized onions.
Crème brûlée translates literally as burnt cream. It could refer to the miltary tactic of scorched earth, whereby retreating armies destroy or dismantle everything in their path in order to deprive the advancing armies of food, shelter and natural resources. Just about what they're doing in Ucraine.
Putin’s Alaska dinner was diplomatic blandness on a plate—safe, forgettable, and designed not to offend. But come on… Alaska’s got caribou, wild salmon, and fire-grilled king crab. Where’s the daring?
A spit-roasted moose would’ve been iconic (and very ‘we could hunt you too’ energy). Instead? Filet mignon and fish glopped with mayo. Even the salad looked like it gave up.
Missed opportunity: 0/10 for boldness, 10/10 for passive-aggressive ‘we’re not impressed’ vibes.
I am surprised the food was so generic, because I think if you want to treat somebody, it should be at least a little unconventional and unique. Mainly because 90% of people will offer them steak, so you should offer sea bass or lamb instead etc... Of course I do not like Vladimir Putin as a person, but just in theory, a steak dinner is not the ideal dinner to offer a guest you are trying to impress.

Surprised it wasn’t this, given McDonald’s pulled out of Russia
This was the reply I was looking for.
We were all disappointed it wasn’t this.
I’m sure the AI memes of Trump, Putin and Zelenskyy eating McDonalds will shortly be all over the internet.
@ShrunkenGuy believe that is a photo of what Trump put out for the college football champs on the White House visit. 🤷♀️
Yep, I remember.
We’re all waiting with baited breath for the sequel with a foreign leader, lmao.
@ShrunkenGuy lmao XD
It sounds like the dinner might not have been to your personal taste, but let's consider the context. The menu might have been curated to reflect local and classic influences, providing a diplomatic touch. Filet mignon and halibut are certainly more traditional choices that can highlight high-quality ingredients. Sometimes, simplicity brings out the best in flavors without needing an over-the-top presentation. As a self-proclaimed culinary explorer, I would have loved to experience this meal for the cultural connections it offers. 😋

Well, it's a military base in remote Alaska, and they probably don't have access to really unusual meals. This menu looks reasonable, includes the typical 3 courses, beef and fish.
One also has to remember that Trump wants to treat Putin well, but not too well, as a negotiation tactic.
I'm guessing the menu was approved by both Trump and Putin long before they arrived in Alaska.
I guess that Trump - in the kitchen - had chicken Wings in a bucket, with ketchup and some Ham-Burghers as dessert.
Where actually I had thought that they just meet to discuss how to prevent people getting killed.
Who would have thought that this was about a cooking competition...
an awful lot of French influence in it...
It's good to feed people, they think differently when fed well.
So you hate Trump so much you have to find a reason to criticize a lunch menu planned and prepared by the exact same chefs and kitchen staff who prepared Biden's and Obama's food when they were in office?
They should have had a Pizza hut pizza instead. Or some BBQ beef hotdogs or hamburgers and fries.
Very, very well done spit roasted moose drowned in an ocean of ketchup. Trump's dream.
It's a step up from cabbage soup @purplepoppy that's what Putin is used to and for DJT it's his option awsy from McDonald's
I'm sure Putin was grateful and enjoyed his meal. He's not a spoiled whiny snowflake loser.
Pity Putler's dishes weren't laced with poison. They should have sent the entire 8th CIA up there to bump him off.
Simples...
Tax payers funded to a war monger that has nothing to do with us? It should have been saltine crackers and tap water.
It should have been something more Alaskan like smoked salmon or something
HAHA "In Honor of His Excellency Vladimir Putin".
I can understand why you as a britt can't recognize good food.
Not my type of dinner, considering I'm a vegetarian, but I guess the guests were happy.
Boo just a Salad Boring
That's a righteous meal!
He didn't stay he left early...
It's lame but three courses usually are
