I think it looks disappointing. For a start salads are boring, a few leaves on a plate and a sprinkling of vinaigrette, yawn. Filet mignon in brandy sauce, how French. Halibut olympia? I needed to Google this one, basically fish and mayo with cracker crumbs. Creme brulee just a pot of cold custard.
Personally I'd have spit roasted a moose.

American lean bison steak instead of Filet Mignon.
Halibut Olympia seems like the right choice, if it was made from Alaskan halibut layered on a bed of caramelized onions.

I am surprised the food was so generic, because I think if you want to treat somebody, it should be at least a little unconventional and unique. Mainly because 90% of people will offer them steak, so you should offer sea bass or lamb instead etc... Of course I do not like Vladimir Putin as a person, but just in theory, a steak dinner is not the ideal dinner to offer a guest you are trying to impress.

Well, it's a military base in remote Alaska, and they probably don't have access to really unusual meals. This menu looks reasonable, includes the typical 3 courses, beef and fish.
One also has to remember that Trump wants to treat Putin well, but not too well, as a negotiation tactic.
I'm guessing the menu was approved by both Trump and Putin long before they arrived in Alaska.
It's good to feed people, they think differently when fed well.
