I enjoy beer and wine but primarily with food. I can't just sit there drinking beer.

    • It's really filling.
    • It's full of empty calories.
    • I've never really fallen in love with the taste.
    • But beer does seem to compliment food well.

With that said, I do have a few favorites and it seems that lager style beers are what I enjoy.

    • Mexican pilsner style pale lagers have a nice light taste that goes well with a lot of foods. Corona Extra and Modelo Especial are the most popular here in the US.
    • Sam Adams Boston Lager is a German style lager with a much stronger flavor and a lot of bitter hops plus a darker color. But it's like drinking chocolate cake. Not the taste, the richness. I can't drink more than 1 or 2. If there is an "after dinner beer", this is it. Also good with seafood in cold weather. Clam chowder and seafood stew, that sort of thing.

  • I do enjoy a good beer on occasion, especially when exploring the culinary landscape. Each sip speaks to the culture and tradition behind it. One brand that stands out for me is Hitachino Nest from Japan. With its unique blend of ingredients and flavors, it's a journey into the intricate world of Japanese brewing, perfectly complementing a sushi feast. 🍺🍣

I don't like beer. Sometimes on parties with pervert high beverage prices and turned heater on at summer evenings I buy a Pilsner beer. Becks, Heineken or Carslberg. It's bitter and contains a ton of CO2, that's why it lasts long time.
I don't like being scammed with obscene prices and bottle is in nightclubs and at parties better than long drink glass. It's more difficult to throw something in a bottle than in a glass, especially if you don't let it out of your hand.

I'm not a big beer drinker, but I occasionally enjoy good porter or stout on tap.
I might have Modelo Negra at a Mexican restaurant, Sopporo at a Japanese restaurant, Singha at a Thai restaurant, or Tsingtao at a Chinese restaurant.

I don't drink beer often - maybe 2 or 3 a month on average - but when I do, it is usually Steel Reserve 211 High Gravity which is often hard to come by.

Steel Reserve 211 High Gravity Lager with 8.1% ABV
Steel Reserve 211 High Gravity Lager with 8.1% ABV

It surprisingly does not cost much; I can get a 24-oz can for $1.35.
That cheap price is likely because it is not well-known and does no advertising that I am aware of.
But, even better, the beer has an alcoholic content of 8.1% ABV (alcohol by volume). For comparison, Budweiser has 5% ABV. So, in other words, if you want to get shitfaced, Steel Reserve is the way to go.

In fact, I just discovered this website which lists North American beers by "ABV" and which has Steel Reserve 211 listed as #1.

German beer is the best because there defined ingredients allowed. Everything else is forbidden. "Deutsches Reinheitsgebot"

So you dont have any sh*t mixed under the label beer.

I like the natural not chill filtered with microplastic. You can't store it so long but it is best!

    Mix it with

    Coke
    Lemonade
    Applesauce

    ...

And some like Wheat Beer with banana juice.

I like dark beer with cherry juice.

Famous in the Gothic and Metal scene is Odin-Trunk. Beer with met.

And very special is Rauchbier. It tastes as smoked meat.

Schlenkerla from Bamberg. Special, you love it or hate it.

OMG 😱 Dogfish Head Midas Touch!! You will NEVER have a finer brew!!

"Dogfish Head Midas Touch is a sweet and dry beer made with ingredients from 2,700-year-old drinking vessels found in King Midas' tomb. It's the first beer in Dogfish Head's Ancient Ales series and has an ABV of 9%. Some say it's a cross between beer, wine, and mead, and could appeal to both beer and chardonnay drinkers."

Love it, but I only drink socially (which I think is the healthiest approach. Everything in moderation).

My favourite stouts are Guiness and Dragon Stout.

My favourite red ale is Rickard's Red.

My favourite IPAs are Flying Monkey Juicy Ass, Life in the Clouds, and Octopus Wants to Fight.

And my favourite golden ale is Big Wave.

I want to try a ton more.

Well it's about the family that created the Guinness beer in Ireland and the series tells the story of the moment they are about to expand and start selling the beer in America. And so it portrays all the dynamics between the siblings and their stories after the death of the father. It's funny, serious and it keeps you on your toes. A perfect combination in my eyes. šŸ™ƒ

The range and taste of beers in the world is truly amazing. To think that so many different flavors can originate from four simple ingredients (water, hops, malt and yeast).

I will never to get try them all, but it's fun to taste as many different beers as possible.

@DrPepper12 LOL I used to live in Wisconsin, so I'm all too familiar with Linnies. But they don't compare to Weihenstephaner. If you love beer, you have to go to a big enough store and find Vitus or the wheat beer. It will run you about $15 a six pack, but worth every penny. Weihenstephaner is the oldest continuous brewery in the world!!

Not often but I would if beer is the only thing available.

I just hate the price I have to pay with the terrible bloating feeling afterwards.

If I had a choice, I'd opt for Stella Artois.

Back before I got GERD, i enjoyed having an occasional beer. I honestly recommend red beers, shandys, white ale like blue moon, mead, stouts, samuel addams, and ciders

So Many, Dog Fish Head, Two Hearted, Captain Lawrence, Sam Adams. Honorable mentioned to the now defunct "Anchor Steam Ale", and many more!

Before Age hit. I've always enjoyed Guinness and Killians. Michelob Amber Bock is decent as well.

Not really. I’ll have a Corona, Guinness or Stella with others, but prefer cider, cooler, or seltzer

      @exitseven I found Badger Brew.
$1.95 for a case of shorties, the deposit cost more than the beer.
