Did you buy a turkey yet? How much per pound did it cost?

I bought three of them last week. They were Butterball turkeys at 99 cents a pound.

One of the local news channels had a democrat college professor from some college I never heard of say how much more Thanksgiving will cost this year as compared to a year ago. He cites that turkey a year ago was 99 cents a pound. This year it is 1,69 a pound. I knew that I did not pay that for a turkey. I did some research. I found another two supermarkets that were also 99 cents a pound for butterballs. Another supermarket was charging 59 cents a pound for their store brand turkey.

The most expensive turkey I found was 1.39 a pound.

When we do parties with extended family we prefer restaurants to home made meals because they sometimes cancel on us, or only bring part of the family over, or show up 3 hours late to parties. With restaurants, uncertainty is easier to adjust for and manage.

Not yet. The grocery stores where I live tend to give out free turkeys as part of a membership rewards program. I‘ll probably get something within the next few days.

Couple of turkey roasts
Collectivly weigh about 5lbs and cost £20 or maybe £25 together so £4/5 a pound would be $5.33-$6.09

Full turkeys aren't any cheaper, technically more expensive given the stuffing and the amount of waste plus longer cooking times

I haven't gotten our turkey yet but I'll be getting it for free. My supermarket will give you a free turkey if you spend a certain amount of money in the 4 weeks prior. I know they are advertising turkeys for $1.59 lb.

But I usually made ham instead, I'm not a very big turkey fan.

Thanksgiving will be higher this year than last year. Trump gave out fake numbers. The comparison this years had 14 fewer items and Walmart Brand on many items.
