Why do I get money off from drinks?

I went to a fast food place yesterday to get a drink. I ordered a large and he only charged me $1 for it. At the window a lady gave me the drink. I was the only one in line.

He didn't try hitting on me and when I go to a different location they give me bary free drinks there too? I dont get it
