Inspired by Chico from district 305 😄

I moved out of my mom's house when I was sixteen and a half from probably twelve to sixteen after school , my mom would have a list that we're going to have for dinner , and I would prepare it
Did I move out? I knew how to cook and I just got better and better
1 day, my friend came over for lunch. Or he came over, he was working with me and I made him something leftovers that I had that night before, and he you scarfed it down and he goes, how did you learn how to cook so good and he told him I got hungry LOL. When you get hungry, you learn things. But I still cook today, and I love cooking. I love good food
I can only make pasta, but I get creative, it's kinda easy to make pasta but I experiment with ingredients and I'm gatekeeping what I just concocted tho since it's new and it's like a new kind of alfredo, I call it the chrisfredo 😂
Omg, that’s hilarious, I liked the name 😄
I’ll teach you how to cook 😊
Then I can be unstoppable in the food business 😌
For sure
You know I was thinking if we can do business and start making and selling your “Chrisfredo”, I am sure it’ll be an epic 😄
Yes but it's not for everyone cause it is quite spicy, although it can be modified to someone's liking and switch ingredients but the way I make it normally, it's not for everyone's liking cause it's a bit over mild, so that would decrease sales but maybe you can elenify it and make it better 😂
You said spicy.. I am all for it then 😄
I like my food spicyyyyy most of the time
Really? Or do you just wanna hear my recipe? 🤣
No.. sriracha sauce and tabasco sauce are my favorite ones all the time, I use them with everything
But, your recipe seems a very tasty one 😋
I’ll make it today 😊
Oh nice, I remember I used to eat a lot of siracha with popcorn, it was perfect, and let me know if you like it and let me know if you try it with garlic too lol
Will do 😊
They used to have an Alfredo sauce pasta dish at Claim Jumper that was good called "pastalaya" I'll give you an abbreviated recipe with a twist and make it easy. Chop up all this shit- 2 handfuls of chicken breast, 1 cooked smoked sausage or two strips of cooked bacon, a handful of red bell pepper, handful of onion, half a handful of celery, 2 cloves of garlic, and whatever kind of hot peppers you like. Throw all that shit in a big frying pan with a little olive oil and butter, and 1 teaspoon of blackened seasoning. Saute (fry) all that shit on low until the vegetables start getting mushy and the chicken is firme, holmes. Throw in a handful of shrimp and a jar of Alfredo sauce in, cook on low until it gets hot enough to start bubbling good, stirring often. Put a lid on it and turn it on the lowest heat setting and let it go for another 5 minutes. Cut the heat, let it sit for 10 minutes, stir it up, put it in to of your pasta, and squeeze a little lemon on top and a little chopped green onions.
I love to cook. The kitchen has always been "the heart of the house" since I was a baby, so I learned young, watching three generations of women in my family cooking and fussing over a meal so that everything about it looked and tasted perfect. Even "on the fly" meals or passed trays at a house party were completely amazing. I caught on to a few tricks and added a few improvements here and there over the years. I figure I'm pretty good at it now. Passing my little tricks onto the next generation now.
I do. My father was a chef and he taught me everything he knew in the kitchen.
Wow.. that’s so cool 😊
Thank you!
You’re welcome 😊

My mother taught me basic. Cutting, peeling, making pudding, cooking stock, cooking potatoes, making Schnitzels and few Salads...
In school we learned one how to make Lasagna, pizza an potato gratin. From my hunter schooling I neaded to learn how to gut, skin and preserve wild. This includes some sausage receipts, salt curing and smoking. However this isn't really usable for normal cooking since most people don't have proper sausage filling machine or smoker.
Everything else I learned from TV and Internet.
It’s really not difficult. You start with the simplest of dishes and just add or vary one or two things. For me it’s more about high quality ingredients, anyway.
I learned from my first girlfriend. There is a hurdle to surmount in terms of some basic skills and gaining a little confidence to be in a kitchen...
... then add 30 years of practice, including with two hungry kids for much of it. We always took the approach that we would just feed the kids whatever we were eating and if they didn't like it, well they could always get themselves some peanut butter sandwiches or something. Okay, a few fights, like whether mushrooms were edible, were lost.
Right now I'm mainly just cooking for me which means I get to d^8( around with things... I just choose a flavour profile and go at it... pork, green bean and horseradish stir fry; jerk chicken biryani, etc. It's quite liberating.
I enjoy cooking most of the time… especially when I have a lot of time on my hands and can really take my time.
I learned the basics from my aunt and grandmother… and I learned a lot more from my ex husband. He was an excellent cook.
Yes I do , I actually learned a lot from my Dad that loved to cook as well , and of course myself with coming up with new recipes. I make some meals that my friends’ and family request that I make. So receiving compliments makes me want to cook more 😊
I enjoy cooking for others, can't be bothered much if it's just for myself, stick to very simple dishes,,,
If I could afford it I'd live on takeaways or chain restaurants,,,
Grandfather and mother taught me most things, the rest I worked out for myself,,,
I started by necessity. Had to help out around the house. Since then I've expanded my enjoyment of cooking by watching a lot of videos, reading cookbooks and websites. Now, I'm quite a good cook. I can cook most any type of cuisine, and most everything is delicious.
I was self taught until about age 25. My ex wife was a near gourmet level cook. I learned a lot from her. Basically it just takes some curiosity an the willingness to try. Learn what you like and adjust recipes accordingly. Yeah, I enjoy it.
I learned on my own and I used to enjoy it.
Nice 😊
Basics by my parents at home.
My dad was especially helpful as we both like experimenting.
I was taught a bit by my aunt, and the rest I learned by doing.

I started cooking when I was 8 years old. My parents were always working, and my brother and sister never wanted to cook for me, so I had to learn to feed myself and learn it fast.
Yes, I do. Mom taught me shortly before she died. Problem is, I don't have an oven or working kitchen stove to cook shit with!! I have to use the basement stove and only 3 of the burners work on that.
I love to cook & my friends & family say I am good at it. Mostly I learned to cook from my grandmother & my dad. The rest I picked up on my own. I actually found cooking to be easy to learn..
Its a real luxury at the weekend when I've time.
Because I dont want to eat fast food so I only cooked what I like.
Now I want... more!
I don't enjoy it.. I learned from my exs mom and on my own..
Usually. Like you, I learned from my mom, mostly, and from my maternal grandma. A couple of cooking shows and a few cookbooks helped.
Sometimes I enjoy cooking. Learnt few sweet dishes and few others from uncle, mom, YouTube videos etc.
I love to cook, I learned by watching a lot of cooking shows & taking 2 years of culinary school.
I learned from both my mom and brother.
And yeah, especially if what I make turns out to be good
I enjoy cooking on the barbecue grill outside steaks, smoked ribs and turkey. My father and brother taught me
I'm ok with it but wouldn't say I really enjoy the process. More interesting in eating the result 😅
I learn from my mom and dad, and working at a restaurant
I do and baking too. I learned from my parents and my aunt 😊
I love cooking. I started cooking when I was a teenager.
I do. I learned wherever food needed to be introduced to heat.
Yes, I like cooking, my mom taught me some things, and I also have many cook-books.
Im still learning to cook since my wife is not able to do it anymore. Some things taste really good. Others end up in the garbage
Interestingly i am learning from YouTube... it's one of my goals in 2026 haha
My momma taught me. I enjoy it
