Do you prefer cocktails or beer?

Yes... it depends on the circumstance. Beer and wine just go with food for some reason. I don't want whiskey with a burger or paella. By the same token, after dinner I enjoy a cocktail more than beer or wine. Generally I'm reaching for a slow sipping drink like a whiskey, martini, or brandy. An afternoon at a seaside cafe overlooking the water? I'm reaching for something light and refreshing like a gin and tonic or a mojito. Or here in New England maybe a Grey Goose and cranberry juice.

Cocktails. Rum, gin or tequila.
I like red wine, too.

I'm not a big fan of beer, especially domestic brands, but enjoy the occasional stout or porter on tap. And I'll sometimes have a Modelo Negra with Mexican food or a Sopporo with Japanese food.

Long drinks. I order only beer in bottles when nightclub is full and queues to bar are too long. Beer tastes bad so I don't want drink too fast and bottle opening is small it's difficult to put something inside

I was told beer has less calories and sugar than cocktails but I would rather drink a cocktail, and drink less frequently, due to higher sugar and calories per drink, then beer, then drink a beer, and drink more frequently, but get a weaker flavour of beverage per drink than a cocktail. I find beer to be boring in comparison to cocktails.

Cocktails generally. I dont drink as much as when I was younger during my "party phase"... then I would drink beer due to the low cost. But now, Id rather drink for enjoyment, and beer is not that for me.

Hmmm... I definitely like both at different times, AND wine too! I'm an equal opportunity drinker! On hot days, and ice cold beer or well chilled martini does the trick. On cold winter days, I'm more like to go for red wine or whisky. How about you?

Wine. I have only had rum and cokes and that's rarely, and one Manhattan in my life. A priest gave me the latter (my ex-husband's priest/uncle drank them and so did his doctor/uncle.
