I'm not much of a fan of cocktails, preferring bourbon, neat.

That being said, I remember being in The Cayman Islands many years ago with a lovely lady, where the hotel beach bartender made 'Yellowbirds' for my lady and myself.

I don't fully recall the recipe, but I think it was rum, orange juice, maybe triple sec, and
I'm not sure what else.
They were silky smooth.

We asked for the recipe, but we were never able to duplicate them once we were back home.
That was 37 years ago.
I lost the recipe within months of returning home from that very romantic vacation.

C'est la vie.

It was quite romantic, sipping on 'Yellowbirds', watching the sunset over the Gulf, reclining on lounge chairs on a white sand beach.

I'm a straight liquor drinker. Tequila, American Bourbon Whiskey, Irish Whiskey and Ketel One Vodka are My Favorite distilled hard drinks when I want or need something more than a fermented beverage.

I think it was a French 75 though I usually just do a Maker's and Coke when I do drink. That's much more rare than it used to be

I mostly just drink Scotch on the rocks or occasionally a vodka and ginger ale but to me that's not a cocktail
