What is your favorite pizza crust style and why?

St. Louis style, thin crust, with provel cheese.

Why?

I'm a lifelong St. Louisan.
When you have the best at home, why travel?

Provel cheese is very flavorful compared to mozzarella.
It's not stringy like mozzarella is, either.
Not that stringiness is a problem, but just sayin'.

The thin crust is there to hold the toppings.
I'm not a fan of a ton of dough.

Other pizza styles are either OK or pretty good, but thin crust with provel cheese is what makes a pizza a pizza for me.

To each, their own.

I went to watch a fight with some friends and one of the guys brought a Detroit style pizza. I was an immediate fan because the crust somewhere between thin and thick and it came out half soft and half crunchy. There was also some crunch on the cheese and the sauce was a little spicy. This place is a 30 minute drive from me and I’m considering going up there this afternoon.

I've always liked pizza with thick dough and ingredients, baked (and crispy) on both sides. I really liked Little Caesar's pizza, but unfortunately this chain left our country a few years ago and Pizza Hut is disgusting.

I always go for a Neapolitan-style crust 🍕
Soft, airy, with a puffy leopard-spotted edge and a thin, tender center. It has that slight chew, light smokiness from a hot wood-fired oven, and a gentle tang from long fermentation.

I remember eating one in Naples with just San Marzano tomato, mozzarella, basil and olive oil. Simple, but every bite felt alive.

Grew up with thin crust pizza, so that's the favorite. New Haven style isn't bad. St. Louis style is great! Every once in awhile we go to Uno's for the Chicago style. Mostly where we live there is Greek style pizza. We found a Godfather's Pizza Express a short drive away so we go there too every once in a while.

Stuffed pretzel crust with a garlic & herb butter basting before the last 5 minutes... and my reasoning is because it's tasty, with it's gooey cheese, the savery flavorful compound butter glaze, and the nice soft but crunchy texture of the pretzel bread.

The smallest possible edge crust. Too many places are having a big bulgy crust and less and less toppings. very bad. Edge needs to be just big enough to hold all the good stuff on there.

I like thin crust on occasion and then the rest of the time you know like a medium pan type crust to hold the pepperoni the pineapple the jalapenos the onions the olives and the mushrooms in place
