Honey is a miracle food. It's the only food known to man with an unlimited shelf life and can be stored at room temperature (sorry, but even Twinkies have a shelf life of 77 years!) Manuka honey from New Zealand and parts of Australia is especially amazing.
Manuka honey comes with a numeric rating. The number rating on both UMF (unique manuka factor) and MGO rated honey indicated the concentration of methylglyoxal content in that batch of honey. The higher the number, the higher the concentration of methylglyoxal, which is responsible for the healing and benefits. Honey with higher numbers has the same qualities as that with lower numbers, but is more potent. If a jar has the letters MGO, it has been tested for the methylglyoxal content. The numbers after MG or MGO show the Methylglyoxal Level in mg/kg.
Research shows that Manuka honey offers antibacterial, antiviral, anti-inflammatory, and antioxidant benefits. It may and often does help:
Heal wounds. It keeps wounds clean and lowers the pH (the level of acidity in the wound) for better healing. It may help tissue grow and ease pain.
Improve oral health. It can protect against dental plaque buildup. This may prevent gingivitis, a gum disease that causes bleeding and swollen gums.
Ease sore throats. Its antibacterial and anti-inflammatory effects may calm a scratchy or sore throat.
Support ulcers. It may lower inflammation and protect the lining in diabetic foot ulcers or stomach ulcers.
Manage acne. It can hydrate skin and fight bacteria that cause breakouts.
Any good, raw honey will help heal wounds. It's better than anti-bacterial creams. Of course, anywhere you would use raw sugar, you can use honey instead.
Another little known benefit is for allergies. If you are susceptible to pollen related allergies and are moving to or visiting a new area with different trees and flowers, buy some raw, local honey and eat 1 to 2 teaspoons daily when you arrive. It can act as a sort of vaccine to help acclimate your immune system to local pollen.
Too few people realize just how critical bees are to the world's ecosystems. Honey is just one of their gifts to humankind.
As for seasonal allergies some people have them & some people don’t & some people unfortunately have them year round. As for me I get seasonal allergies sometimes & sometimes I don’t. As for wildflower honey I like it from local bee keepers & I like that fact that it has antioxidants, antibacterial, and anti-inflammatory compounds & it exposes my system to all kinds of flower related allergens.
I love love love honey so so so much.
There's this way I enjoy it. I get a dry cold bread, slightly stale, from the fridge. And I pour a dollop of honey over it and spread it so it nicely enters through the porous surface. And then I take small small bites and savour it.
Unpopular opinion, Honey... but I don't like honey xD
Honey booo lol
Well it was more of a mocking tone cause how dare you dislike honey. you're unallowed to dislike what i like!
jk
I really like honey, especially good raw floral ones 🍯
My favorite way to have it is drizzled over thick Greek yogurt with toasted nuts and a few slices of ripe figs. It reminds me of a tiny café in Athens where breakfast was just that and strong coffee. I also love it on buttered sourdough or a sharp aged cheese.

I eat a bagel with honey before my long runs 😅
I need the carbs !
Hmm good idea lol
I'll gladly share with you
*takes a bite* mmm
I hope it's not too bland for you 😅
I like honey so it shouldn’t be. But maybe i might add peanut butter. :D
Omg with cookie butter 🧈 😋 😍
That too lol
I've a sweet tooth so yes. I like it on toasted crumpets and pancakes mostly. Got to be the runny stuff not that set crap.
Not had mead for a while though.
I like it but don’t generally go out of my way for it. It tastes good in green tea (will typically only do if sick tho), as a peanut butter and honey sandwich, or in overnight oats
Mix it with peanut butter, strawberry preserves on that Arnold Multigrain bread
When I eat fried chicken I mix it with buffalo sauce or Tabasco sauce and use it for dipping
Delicious, goes in many things it's better for you in all the aspects of nature and it's beneficial to your health.
I love it on pancakes with walnuts, or on bread & butter. I also like it in honey pie.
Love it, I wood hav milk w/it if I wasn't allergic 2 honey.
I usually only use it when I'm sick. I put it in my tea with lemon juice
