Haven't eaten one, but they're vegetarians and I'm sure would taste something like chicken. Yes, they're cute and we're bred them as pets for a long time, But any animal can be bred for meat. Dogs, cats, horses, ostriches have been too.
I don't think there's any holier than thou animal. It's more like what's utilitarian and what makes money and is acceptable by people.
Chickens are not vegetarian. Why would you assume that guinea pigs taste like chicken?
I can't imagine Guinea pigs provide much meat. It's basically like eating a squirrel. Seems like chickens and goats would be a better source of protein than pigeons and small rodents. Apparently this off the grid clan has missed the news about agriculture for the last 3,000 years.
When I was young, I had a guinea pig named Patrick as a pet, never considered him a food source.
no, that makes me want to eat plants, eventhough they don't want to be eaten either.
Not tht I know but who really knows whats in the hamburgers at McDonalds. I heard that they used prairie dogs.
If they taste nice why not? It's a good idea if you have the stomach for slaughtering them and doing whatever task it is that makes them edible with no fur and organs. I wish I could do that but really can't!
Nope but I've eaten beaver. In both ways. @Abbycado
Nope, I'm a vegetarian, and I used to have a pet guinea pig... so I would definitely never eat it.
Seems like itd be a lot of work for very little meat... I mean, where im from we hunt and eat squirrel, but if it weren't for the guys veing willing to do the skinning, they wouldn't ever get any... and theyre bigger than a guinea pig.
No I wouldn't either
I am allergic to abused flesh.
No, but I wouldn't be averse to trying. It's all meat to me.
No but I sometimes eat pussy
Nah. Too much fur.
No I haven't and wouldn't
Not yet
I am sure its safe.

I have eaten guinea pig, in Peru, where it’s called cuy 🇵🇪
It was roasted whole over an open flame in Cusco. The meat was dark, a bit like a cross between rabbit and duck, with crisp skin and lots of tiny bones. Flavor was strong, slightly gamey.
Delicious in context, but because of the small size, fiddly bones, and cultural resistance, it will not become the next KFC-style global fast food.
