That guy you've had a crush on for months who never seemed to pay you a second of attention, yet the moment you decide to get over him, he will waltz by with his big, shining grin, swoop you off your feet and... offer you gum. Girls are very smart. Our intuition outruns that of the most sensitive emotion-detecting supper computer. We can sense a guy's feelings a mile a way. If you've ever been with a group of gossiping girls, you would have definitely heard "Oh Michael? Yeah, he text me the other day. He's so in love with me it's adorable." Okay, maybe not all girls are that mean, but the bottom line is we do know. We don't need all this online advice, all these different websites to tell us if a guy likes us. We just know, and most of the time, we are right. Guys are very obvious and straitgh-forward when they like a girl.

The problem, however, comes from the guys we like. I've heard myself say this so many times "If this was anyother guy, I would know he likes me or not." When girls fall in puppy love, we don't judge by intuition, but by what we want the situation to be. "Mike looked at me today. I think he likes me!" "We never talk but I can tell he wants to talk to me. He's just too shy." "What if he does this, does he like me then?" We contort male-kind into some mysterious woodsland creature, one we know nothing about.

The down fall of female kind is our neglegence towards what we know v. what we think. We willingly put ourselves through cycles after cycles of confusion and pain just to chase an unattainable image of a man who does not exist. We forget sometimes, that men were not made for us to pick, chose, then make up a lovestory with. We get hurt because we are chasing a shadow of who he is.

Nonetheless, not all hope is lost for deep down, each girl's intuition still burns, shining a way to the truth. That gut feeling that you have. Yes, that! What is it telling you? Behind all fabricated lust lie the answer that you've known all along. Does he like you?

I follow this line of thought: Does it make sense to use words to describe something that isn't a word? Not really.

Different people have different meanings and understandings of the word 'smart'. Its meaning gets derived from context as well.

I agree that guys tend to be very obvious and straight forward when they like a girl, not always but as a generalization this seems to be the case... which doesn't necessarily mean that girls are super highly intuitive and can figure out a guy's feelings from a mile away. If someone throws a ball at you, you don't need to be a professional athlete to realise that the ball is coming towards you...

As far as I can tell pretty much every person interacts with other people via some internal projection and an internal map (or belief system) of how things work or should work. This gets influenced by experience, eg, a person who has never done LSD doesn't understand what it's like to be under the influence of LSD, or a person who hasn't fallen in love doesn't understand what it's like to be in love, or a person who has never eaten meat wouldn't comprehend the taste of meat nor can we imagine a new color unless something changes that allows us to...

How can someone comprehend the mind of another without actually being the other or using imagination?

So is it that you're intuitive or just that guys who approach and hang around you have obvious feelings? I assure you, you're over-estimating yourself. Women often think too highly of their intuiting abilities. You're looking at the guys who are making their interest obvious and saying that all guys are obvious with their interest.

You force them into that situation by sitting back and not doing anything. If you're just sitting back and judging guys as they come to you without giving them anything, then you don't get to brag about you're in the know and he's not because of girl magic. You know more about the situation than him because you didn't do anything, not because of some girl magic. How often to you actually corroborate a guy's feelings after making your assessment? Not often is my bet.

You also didn't bother to examine why a guy acts the way he does, you just declared that they were obvious and presumed yourself enlightened. Here's something to think about; if girls insist on exercising veto power then it's a good practice to express interest in all girls that are remotely attractive. If girls insist on sitting back and waiting to veto then it's a good strategy for a guy to pitch to many girls and see who will receive him. From your perspective this looks "obvious" but from his it's a step further, it's exaggeration.

It makes perfect sense that what you see is obvious, because duh, they are the most obvious guys. There are facets to guys that you can't see and so it makes no sense to presume that you're oh so in the know.

Girls are not really smart. The one thing i agree with here is that most guys make it obvious when they like a girl, and they do it on purpose. So you dont need to be smart to know if a guy likes you because he will show you. But girls have more reason to hide their feelings and they are almost never saying what they mean, only hinting. So its not that guys are stupid its just that some girls expect guys to read their minds, which ironically makes the girls seem stupid.
