International Women’s Day: The Perks Of Being A Woman

March 8 is officially International Women’s Day. Though this holiday is celebrated in many countries around the world, March is officially Women’s History Month in the US - Yes, that’s correct: Women have an entire month dedicated to our honor.

Now of course there have been so many monumental moments throughout history that deserve recognition for this occasion, but today I want to point out a variety of everyday moments that women should be thankful for. Thanks to the help of this question I found on GAG, “So, what are the perks of being a woman?”, being a woman is incredible for so many reasons. Check out a few (of so many) reasons why being a girl has its perks:

We can have multiple orgasms

We get free drinks

We have more clothing choices

We can get sex easier

We aren’t required to fix things

People open doors for us

We can enjoy more activities without worrying about pain

We can cry without scrutiny

We can get out of tickets easier than men

We can borrow our boyfriend’s clothes

Boobs. Enough said.

I didn't realize there was woman's history month, until I was at the library today and had all these influential women in history and it said "woman's history month". Until that moment, I didn't know there was a month and until I read this I didn't know there was a day. I know this will be an unpopular opinion but I think it's kind of stupid that there's an international woman's day, I mean what's the actually point in that? And, how can you even call that a holiday? I swear they make everything a holiday and it's just ridiculous, holidays are suppose to be sacred (some of them anyway) but it kind of loses it's meaning when we declare everything a holiday, doesn't it?

All those things you wrote about why it's great to be a women, those aren't reasons to be proud to be a woman. Those are superficial things and I can't be proud of that. This (everything you said that's great about being a women), this is what I meant in my take about being different than other women. None of that stuff is relevant to me. I'm happy I'm a chick but I don't dwell on it or all the reasons it's great or it's not great because in the end I'm just a person who happened to be born a girl. It's really just that simple. This is what I'm meant when I said I'm different, I simply just don't fit in. I can't relate and I'm a misfit because I didn't even know that this existed and I don't care that it does. I got more important things to worry about.

I mean, mb I just live and work in particularly post-modern, post-battle-of-the-sexes parts of the world... but, I swear, I have NEVER witnessed this discrepancy in door-holding that the internet is always up in arms about.

In the places I frequent, people just hold doors for... people. People who are reasonably close to the doors and clearly headed for them. And/or carrying a bunch of crap.

(The gif shows a car door, but, opening a car door is something people just do to be cute -- again, unless the other person is carrying tons of stuff. Honestly, with modern cars, having someone else open yr door is much more likely to be an INconvenience than a luxury.)

I only open doors for women. If it's a man behind me, I usually shut it and hold it closed while he tries to open it and starts getting angry. Then I let him through and laugh about it.
Some guys take the joke and some get really defensive and angry.

To be honest, none of these really seem like perks to me, lol. I know that a lot of women hail having multi orgasms, but I guess as a guy when I watch a woman having them, they actually don't seem like they'd feel as great as a male orgasm. In my opinion.

I hear some women say they can get sex easier, but it doesn't really work that way. I don't doubt that women can get sexy, but I don't really think they're getting it any EASIER than men, and in some ways men get sex far easier than women.

Overall, when I see females posting things like this, it kinda says to me that they're insecure about their femininty, so hoot and cheer for a special day dedicated to them. I'm a guy, and I don't need a special Men's day or month or anything like that to feel good about being a man.
