I guess we don't need one to live. But everyone should know that. But people want companionship. And when they can't or have trouble getting it they become desperate and depressed and may think something is wrong with them... which isn't usually the case.
The one thing I really took out of this is your poor choice in men. You need to have more respect for yourself and understand that you don't need to be with a guy that treats you like crap. But also understand that just because you dealt with such guy this doesn't mean all men are like this and that women should shun all men.
Completely agree. It bugs me when people say "omg I NEED a boyfriend/girlfriend". You never NEED one, it's what you WANT, you crave love, attention and companionship. You're born alone, you will ultimately die alone. Love and relationships are just the extra spice to life.
I disagree, loneliness kills. I think companionship is a huge part of being a happy adult, no matter how hard we try to convince ourselves otherwise. I ended up being used by a woman, but I don't sit here and ramble on about negative generalizations concerning women because of one experience. I'm also 50 percent responsible for putting myself in that situation. There are millions of men and women out there, people just need to be wiser when choosing a partner that's all. That being said, I think the owner of this post is just hurt from a past experience, and is just venting on the male species.
No, you know what you do need? Learn to defend yourself, fix a car, and how to treat several medical emergencies. Stop wasting your time thinking about a fucken person and use your precious time learning how to be independent, powerful, and efficient. If you know all this the thank the universe that there are people like you in this world.
Just be with or without anyone you want.
Be WITH someone who compliments your personality, who makes you happy, and who you get along with.
Be WITHOUT people who make you feel empty and sad or angry and pissed off.
Doesn't mean boyfriend/girlfriend, just means if you keep those kinds of friendships in your life, perhaps you'll be more able to find out whether or not you WANT to have someone in your life forever.
Ignore the media and just do what makes you HAPPY.

Look, I am not going to go as far as saying that I don;t NEED a man.. because human beings are designed to want company. I like company but I have a lot of love to give, therefore I would like someone to spend the rest of my life with.

I don't have a man and I don't feel like I need one in order to continue living my life. Next time you write something like try not to generalize. you are so right!!! i did the same exact thing too! he broke my heart and my heart longed for him because i wanted him coz he didn't wanted me back! i cried for him for 4-5 months continous even tried to date other men but nothing worked for me to get over him but now i finally realized he had nothing to offer me!! you are right on point! thanks! i feel like million bucks too!
