when I was sleeping my wife turned her phone on and the light from her phone bothered my eyes so I asked her what she was doing she then started yelling at me why I was questioning her she started to curse at me and call me names so I returned the favor and she spit at me she has since apologize but I figure she has lost respect for me and I'm wondering does it mean once my wife loses respect for me that is it over

- gets pissy when you tell her she's disrupted you
- starts yelling at you for being asked not to disturb your sleep
- spits on you

Disregard for you, like most people would worry about disturbing the partner with bright lights in bed. If they don't think of it first, they'll certainly apologise when they saw it bothered him.
I don't know how she usually acts, but if it's anything similar to that night, just flying off the handle over literally nothing... It's not so good.

You might want to seriously consider your options before you have kids with her. I would also wonder who she was texting on the phone too as it seemed to embolden her.

I would be more interested in if she is cheating now. If she is, i would collect i formation on it for a divorce and lower my finacial cost. If she isn't, then i would find out why she did it. If I was doing something then I would try to change even if her act itself is unacceptable. There is an issue there and it may or may not be fatal for the marriage... you need to figure out what it is and what you can or will do about it. I wouldn't accept that behavior longterm though.
