GIRLS, how long do you take to TEXT back?

Exactly what the title says: how long do you take to text back if you are interested in a guy?
Do you take hours to reply? Do you read the text and simply wait to not appear you're too interested?

I'm talking to this girl I'm really interested in meeting, and when we text she usually seems interested, she asks questions and all that, but most of the time she takes like 3-5 hours to respond. I don't understand :(

About your girl, I find it a little strange that she takes so long to respond to your texts, especially if she showed interest. She's probably busy, not as interested as you think she is, or just a pretty bad texter. The solution: call her! Set up a time where you both aren't busy and then just have a nice phone conversation. No excuses there, and you can get to know each other a lot better. Though it may be a bit awkward at first if you aren't completely comfortable with her. If you want to go out on a date or spend time with her, then make it a point to do so.

Me personally, I usually read texts fairly quickly, within 10 minutes of receiving them (unless I'm in class or spending time with friends or at the movies or something). If I'm texting a guy I'm interested in, I'll usually match my response speed to theirs. Like, if he's took an hour to text me back, I might respond in 30 minutes. If he's texting me back pretty frequently, I'll respond as quickly as I can. I just kinda go with the flow and my mood of how much I want to talk to him at the moment lol.

Yeah, I might have to call her, but we have just started texting, so it may be weird or awkward to call her, especially when we haven't talked much, since the conversation is going pretty slow.

I see what you're saying. And I definitely know what you mean about a slow conversation. It's honestly really hard to get to know someone if they take hours to respond, unless each text is pretty lengthy and not a few words. Either call her, or maybe even call her out in a gentle way for responding so slowly (don't come off too strong, like texting again and again or being like "where'd you go", that's really annoying) or just kinda ask he what she's doing and find out some possible indicators about why she texts back slowly. You definitely want to make the next step of calling her or initiating a date if you'e interested in her.

If she's busy (school/work) it can take a long time to respond.

If she's not busy and it takes that long... that's weird.

When my boyfriend and I were flirting way back in the day my mom told me I was pathetic for how quickly I responded to his texts. She said I seemed desperate because I was so quick to answer him and I didn't "make him work for it." Jokes on her though 'cause it's 8 years later and we're delightfully happy :p

Id say she's just not replying too quickly so she doesn't seem to keen. I do that.. I dont even mean to but the guy Im talking to takes hours to reply too so I try and reply at the same rate as him. I wouldn't read too much into it as long as she's replying and she seems interested.

It depends on the girl. But, if she's truly interested and it's a replyable text, it'll be right away. They don't really like "hey" because they don't know if you're texting JUST them or if you're texting a bunch of people at once

That's not a bad idea, but we haven't talked that much though, since she takes so long to reply, our conversations are pretty slow, and I don't think calling her would be that good.

There are two types of girls, one that replies immediately which is like so highschool days, and another who is a lady like, who thinks through before acting upon it. I think you caught yourself type two, maybe she doesn't like you the way that you like her, or maybe she wants to be pleased.

She can just be busy or not know what to say sometimes. A lot of times i reply sort of quick but if I don't know what to say to something ill just wait until later. But that's just me.

I text back immediately, regardless on if I like the person. Unless I'm otherwise preoccupied, then I text back when I'm able. Sometimes I just plain forget.

If I'm interested or I'm really busy, it takes me time to respond. 2 or 3 hours. But sometimes I forget to reply though. I'm weird, if I like someone, I tend to show signs that I'm not.
