Why did she just tell me her age?

Well since I am 37 and I talk to this girl sometimes. And I used to talk to her Mom. And I said I wouldn't keep up with it "Because she is like 17" And she just corrected me "18 but yeah Haha"

Why did she tell me that?

Almost all mothers will correct someone if they say the wrong age of one of their children. Or get their birthday wrong, or their grade in school, or anything else. It's instinct! That's likely all it means.

Aaahhh... misunderstood. Sorry! Well, I think it's still just a natural reaction to correct someone when they state your age but it's not your real or actual age.
