Why do INFPs ignore friends for days/weeks?

My friend is an INFP and she can sometimes ignore a simple message for up to 2 weeks despite talking to other friends regularly in that time. When I confronted her she said its not because she doesn't like me its just she doesn't feel like talking. She always reads the messages but doesn't reply.

it just makes me doubt my value to her as a friend and I feel shut out. Especially when I see her posting photos with friends

We teach people how to treat us. When you continue to give her your energy and attention, even when she doesn't return it (by ignoring you for weeks) then you're teaching her it's okay.

If you're okay with it, then let it go and just enjoy the little time you do interact.

But I suspect you are feeling slighted, which you are, and you're unsure what to do about it.

Since you already asked her and she plainly explained that she's just not really into talking then your answer is clear.

The truth is that she's just doesn't feel like talking TO YOU.

If you're hoping for more from this relationship then you're fooling yourself. Probably because she's cute.

Don't be a door mat, or a lost puppy begging for her attention. Mirror her interest levels... if she takes two weeks to reply, then you MUST do the same.

Honestly, accept that she's this way and let her go. Put your energy somewhere more useful... like friends who like interacting and responding. You'll sleep better and feel more valued.

Well, they're introverts, so that would explain a lot of it. Introverts typically are drained of energy in social situations (even via telephone), so they need time to recharge their batteries. This move is usually done by cutting off contact for an established period of time.

Now, how do you know she is actually TALKING to those friends and not just reading their messages? Maybe they receive brief, curt answers as well, if they receive one at all.

As for the photos of other people, she may feel more of an obligation to please them than she does you and worries about them more. She knows you're already her friend. She doesn't have to work extra hard to make sure you stay her friend. They, however, may place more pressure on her to do things or risk losing their friendship. Remember, just because she showed up to their event doesn't mean she's happy about it.

Alternate scenario: In possible unlikely (but not improbable) circumstances, your friend may simply be trying to cut you off. If this is the case, it may be time to move on.
