How can I show a man interest without coming off as clingy or overly interested? & If I show more interest, would that attract a man more or less?

Every guy I ever have anything with always tell me that I am reserved, quiet, that they don't really know me, I'm cold, etc. I have real problems with showing affection and interest, and letting them in on how I feel or what's going on in my head...
I have my guard up and kinda play games... If it's called games. I mostly mean that I don't let anyone in easily and I never want to appear too interested in guys bc I heard it's a turn off.

that said... I recently met this guy, a month ago, and we have been playing cat and mouse a ton.. I'll show (what I believe to be interest) and then he'll show interest but then I'll stop because I'm fearing I'm showing too much, and maybe he'll do something that makes me believe I'm coming off too strong. But the thing is, I don't think I AM showing too much interest, but it's like every little thing I do I make to be bigger than it is. Like I asked a him how his day on the lake was.. And I contemplated that for a half hour if I should send that or if it would be annoying and clingy.
I'm so afraid that if I show too much interest, they'll think they have the upper hand and lose interest or play me.

How can I show interest without coming across as needy or obsessive? Because I always fear that I am.

You need to take chances to break the barriers in a relationship for it to progress. Start with little things you are less worried about for example talking about things in your life. Then maybe move on to feeling like how those things in your life made you feel. See if you can get him to share his feelings as well. Once you get that far you won't be afraid anymore.

Yeah, don't do that. People are not patient enough to deal with your games.
