I'm wondering whether when women pick men to be their BF/Husband they pick them based on whether the guy matches up with the image the girl is trying to display. For example if the girl is heavily into rock n roll and puts out a rocker persona vibe she will pick a man who is a rocker to be her boyfriend to match with her image. Similar to how she chooses out her clothes, shoes, lipstick to mimic rocker vibe. Another example is if a woman is say tries to play off the good girl vibe/she will pick a man who looks like a good guy to be her boyfriend. If a girl is an intellectual she picks a guy who looks like he's smart (he doesn't actually have to be smart) to be her boyfriend so they can look like the smart couple to everyone.
And essentially it seems like women kind of treat men as accessories similar to their shoes, makeup, hair, clothes. Everything has to match.

I don't believe so. My parents are opposites... look REALLY different from each other and act different as well. I'm a class clown, I like a prep. So what about it? I think the reason why you see couples who look a like or whatever is because they look for themselves as assuming that they'd like the same interests or have the same IQ.
Men tend to treat women as accessories hence why they aren't too flexible with looks. Women are very flexible with looks, if women acted as men then women wouldn't be flexible with looks. They wouldn't settle but choose the most attractive man they can get to treat as accessory.
Omg yes! I totally have a boyfriend for every outfit, they are also stored in my closet with said outfits so I can conveniently take them out for public display whenever I want! It's fashion baby. 💁🏻
Wait... don't we all do that? Don't we all choose someone who's more similar to us, who shares our likes and interests? If a girl is a good girl, she's obviously gonna want a good guy (unless she's an idiot). Girls that are into rock, will prefer guys that are into rock too.

Not necessarily like i said. The guy has to match up with her interest and put out the same vibe she is selling.
For example
A girl could meet a black guy who is into rock just like her but he's black and doesn't look like a rockstar in appearance. She will not consider him even if they share common interest to get with a guy who looks more like a rockstar and who she imagine in her head when people see them they look like a rockstar couple.
I gave similar example with a guy could be a good guy but have scowling look on him a lot because that's just his natural face and who most people would think is mean from looking at him.
Even if he's a good guy the good girl would pass him over because as a couple they don't give off the vibe of being a good girl/guy couple because of his ressting bitch face. So she gets with a guy who has a super, nice guy face to be her boyfriend instead.

... Uh, no. No, that's not true.
Girls **who aren't smart but want to project that image** are the ones who will pick boys who may not necessarily be smart but like to project that image. Again... perfect match.
Actual intelligence -- of whatever kind -- isn't something you can see in a person's appearance, but it's SUPER obvious in lots and lots of other ways, and, yes, smart girls will pick smart boys. I'm talking SUPER obvious, like, you can tell how intelligent someone is just from 1-2 minutes of conversation -- the way the person analyzes and responds to comments, as well as how she/he apprehends people and the environment in general. Basically, smart people just "process data" in ways other people don't, and this is dreadfully obvious from the get-go, and it has NOTHING to do with appearances and clothes.
You are so wrong it's not funny. A smart girl will not pick a guy who is smart unless he also look smart as well and talk smart. There are many guys/girls who do not look smart at first glance like you said but once you get to know them you'll be surprised. There are also guys who do not talk intelligently and maybe even use slang and so forth but are quite smart compared to guys who are intelligent.
A smart girl will NOT pick a guy who is smart but does not give off the appearance of being smart. What I mean is if the guy looks dumb in the face she will not consider him. Why? Because together they look like a smart girl/dumb guy couple even though the guy is actual smart most people will not see that.
She'll go for a guy who looks smart just like dumb girl you said goes for such a guy and that is the reality.

Actual intelligence is obvious. So is a lack of it. Both can be ascertained EASILY from a few minutes of casual conversation. If someone is not on yr level, then, she/he is just not on yr level, and that's that.
@redeyemindtricks Yes actual intelligence cannot be discern from a few minutes of casual conversation that is quite foolish. You get an idea of how intelligent a person is by spending time with them. You could be having conversation with a person on a field that they are not knowledgeable in and they can come off as dumb that does not mean that person is not intelligent. They just aren't knowledgeable in that field.
And yes they are people who are intelligent and look dumb in the face. Looking dumb in the face is a thing.
It's almost like we want partners whose interests match ours. SO WEIRD.

You'll pass him over for a guy who looks super, friendly and nice so you can maintain the image of being a nice girl/guy couple is what i'm getting at.
Search for someone who "goes better" with your style is not treating them like clothing, lipsticks or bags. It's searching for someone with the same tastes as you. I mean if you like rock and tattoos you will be attracted to a girl that likes rock and tattoos as well. My boyfriend likes fashion and so do I our styles together combine really well does that means I picked him to finish my outfit? No, I picked him cause he picked me too first and second that's my type.
Oh yes, I have a new boyfriend everyday of the week :/

Maybe some do but I dont. I like a guy on how he is. If he's funny, smart and I find him good looking then Im interested in those factors not if he matches like a purse.
Think about it this way more people stare and talk about odd couples than those that match up. This means odd couples where people aren't matched up to look very similar like 2 peas in a pod is an anomaly.
From a psychological perspective, the "opposites attract" thing has been disproven as a myth. People are attracted to people who are similar to them - whether in hobbies, musical taste or values.
That's not what i'm saying about similar likes. You have to match up in appearance of what the girl is selling.
For example - Most people would agree that people identify rockers as white guys for the most part. If a white girl is heavily into rock n roll and she meets a black guy shares the same love for the song as she does she will not pick him on the basis that they do not look like a rocker couple.
Yet people do stupid shit like this all the time in dating. Including disregarding someone who would make them the most happy because they care about what their friends think.
