Why do some girls think they don't deserve better?

When a girl meets a guy who finally is going to treat her right, why is she quick to say we shouldn't be together? Is it her low self esteem that's truly talking? after getting hurt so much, is that all these types of girls know? Will they ever feel safe going out with a guy who will respect them?

How can I get this girl to trust me...she always tells me that she feels safe with me, but when she gets stressed out...she starts doubting...she keeps saying that she doesn't think we should be together...is that low self esteem?

becuase most of us are messed up emotionally from all the bad guys we come in contact with all the time. Its hard to find a good guy nowadays and whne we do find one, we don't feel we deserve it because it is too good to be true. Too many guys have messed us over that its hard to beleve a good guy is out there. We are not use to be treating the way we should. Its out of our comfort zones although its what we want, our esteem is too low to appreciate it. They can start to feel they deservge it when they give a good guy a chance

My girlfriend just left me after only 4 months of dating... she always used to say how I treated her too nice and noone had treated her that way before... and how she wasn't used to it not even from her parents... she ahs been cheated on and used before. We had a very easy going great relationship and she ended it saying that she felt it wasn't going anywhere... so this is why?

It depends on the situations. .sometimes we can say that because we're scared to trust guys after some bad relationships but still we should think all of the fingers are not the same :) And need a lot of attention so that we can gain the trust back! that's the guys job to make her fall in love with him. . sometimes we can say it if we dun like the guy more than a friend, so that we won't hurt him. .that's my opinion!

yes it is low self esteem and really if you have been patient with her showing her that you are not a bad guy and she still is pushing you away, its time you go because then she will have realized what she had and start to a ppreciate good guys in the future. Girls like her are too much headache and indecisive.

it's a definate trust thing. almost every boyfriend I've had has cheated on me and when I meet genuine nice guys I tend to get standoffish towards them because I feel like the closer I get the more it'll hurt if they leave. So usually it's just past feelings showing up in the present. right now I have an incredible boyfriend who's truly a nice guy. (crossing my fingers) so it depends on the girl and how bad she's been hurt. bad guys make dating difficult for good guys :\

well if I meet a guy who is really nice and is a good respectful guy at first I think "okay what's the catch" I wait for the other shoe to drop because honestly there are many guys who PRETEND to be like that just so they can get you, and then when they do they show their true colors and disappoint you. it makes me think what's the catch? I like to take the time to really get to know this guy so I can decide for myself if he is truly a good guy or if he's just putting on an act
