Why so many Intelligent, over achieving, BLACK WOMEN date thugs and BLACK MEN who are near total losers?

In my life I've been around and seen so many black girls who do well in school, going to good school, getting good grades, trying to make something of themselves and who have dreams of becoming high paying professionals like lawyers, doctors, engineers. Some girls even graduate valedictorian of their class.
Why so many Intelligent, over achieving, BLACK WOMEN date thugs and BLACK MEN who are near total losers?
However, something puzzles me. These girls are around black men who are also working on making something of themselves and doing well in school and if their open to dating outside their race men in general with this mindset. But they don't go for those type of guys, for some reason a lot of these girls go with guy's with ghetto mindset no career/education aspiration, who dress up like thugs, and all about swagger and looking cool.

Why so many Intelligent, over achieving, BLACK WOMEN date thugs and BLACK MEN who are near total losers?
And it looks like a lot of these guys who are with them are banking on these women to take care of them for life when they become successful and basically be freeloaders.

I would like to know why so many black women still take the street thug to be their lover when they have intelligent black men around them with drive to make something of themselves?
