It has more or less to do with age/maturity I think, as well as upbringing. I think you'd find this trait far more common in the west where they grow up so privileged they don't even realise how privileged they truly are. You often find this type in sheltered, rich families across the world, however considering the fact that most of the west is rich (compared to the rest of the world) its no surprise many become spoilt, entitled and conceited.
Also has to do with age, many teenagers and young adults still think "me, me me" all the damn time, and are often quite selfish and don't think much about being giving or returning favours, because all their lives as they've grown up they've just been given things all the time without having to do anything in return. Its only when they mature and get older when people stop giving everything to them that they start realising that not everything is going to get handed to them and the world doesn't revolve around them.
Some people realise this earlier than others through experience though.41 Reply

+1 yBad parenting. Music, TV, movies, school... puts girls on a pedestal, with all these love stories where the man basically gives his life for the girl, catering for them and all that shizz. With bad parents not telling them all that is crap for entertainment and that real life is way different, you end up getting girls who think they can just do nothing and have men flocking towards them and doing all sorts of things.
Then with the rise of single mothers, we end up with young girls getting brainwashed into the "You need no man" shizz. Into the "if he ain't finna take you to a steakhouse for the first date and then on a balloon ride, he ain't no gentleman. Dump his ass. You a kweeeen you don't settle fo' less" shizz. So you have young women who don't know how to deal with life and especially with men.11 Reply- +1 y

u +1 yGirls at that age are told that women control relationships through sex and that women age 16-20-25 are the most desirable sexually. If you tell someone they have all the power, they will begin acting as if they have all the power.
But not ALL girls that age are conceited, are they?11 Reply- +1 y
Nope. I like to think Im not.

+1 yThey're often getting treated better than other people because they're pretty and young. Plus they're insecure and feel like they have to compete with all other girls for status and the attention of the most desirable men.

+1 yWomen have always had more power in our society than they would like to admit. Now, young girls are being encouraged to take advantage of it and boys are being discouraged from doing the same.

+1 yCompetition amongst each other. That's why some women check out other women, they are scouting their competition. It's usually competion to attract the guys they like.

+1 yNo home training. The way girls act now... if they acted that way when I was that age, they'd most likely get their asses beat.

+1 yBecause everyone under the age of 25 has no personality at all, and this generation tends to think everyone owes them something.

+1 yThey take the confidence thing too far... But that happens with everyone not just young women.
15 Reply- +1 y
Okay so a lot of people love being confident. It makes then feel better about themselves... But... What happens is that they become overconfident (it goes to their head, airhead, etc.) So they become cocky, full of themselves, and conceded.

Anonymous(36-45)+1 yI don't think they are. I think they are nicer in that age range and expect to be treated with respect because they haven't been whoring around like so many older ones have.

+1 yTo be honest? They're white. Which is precisely why I am so attracted to them.

Young white females tend to be the de facto most privileged group in the United States. Privileged people tend to be conceited because they do not realize how good they have it. Feminism itself arose primarily as a luxurious pastime for privileged white women who needed a passion. That is not to say that women of other colors cannot also be conceited, but since minorities tend to not have it so easy, it is less likely.
