When a girl tells me how any girl would be lucky to have me, what does she really mean?

I've recently had a pretty bad breakup, and a good friend of mine (a girl) is going through something similar. Recently we were talking about how our summers were going and stuff like that and she asked me something about how I was doing and I told her. At some point she was like "I don't mean for this to sound weird, but you deserve better than her, you're a catch, any girl would be lucky to have you, you're such a good person, etc etc." Then we moved on and talked about unrelated stuff.

I'm just curious, what are the chances her intentions were completely innocent (we're friends, she thinks I'm a good person, she doesn't want to see me with someone who treats me bad and knows that I treat a girl right, so she said what she said, meant it but didn't mean anything more by it) and what are the chances that she said what she did because she has some sort of feelings for me? What she said and how she put it kind of surprised me and it got me wondering... Especially since me and her have conflicting views on some issues which could make a serious relationship difficult.

She was probably just being honest.

She meant that any girl would be lucky you have you because she obviously loves you (either platonic or more complicated feelings)

i wouldn't analyse her every word, just take it day by day.

I say this to my male friends a lot, only when I mean it though. It's also a way to make them feel better but then you're going to tell any friend that they deserve better because you see 100% of them.

I need a little more info. on what she said to you...it could go either way. She could have feelings for you and may be holding back just enough that you can't tell. Or she just might be a really good friend that cares about you.

That's like saying "you're such a special person"or something. Simple translation - "I don't fancy you one iota but you're kind of OK to hang out with".
