Why do so many females use those stupid animal face filters in pictures?

It's not females only, the whole generation kinda grew with those "thanks to" snapchat.

It's been normalized a lot so kids just crave that shit.
It's also a "Good" way to hide most of your face will still taking a picture, it brushes away most of your bad facial features under a silly/weird image.

Purpose of those filter really isn't to take good pictures, but to mess it up as much as possible on purpose so that you may not recognize yourself before posting it.
It kinda chases away insecurities for many children when posting pictures online.

Point being : I don't particularly care, if anything it allows me to see who's more insecure at first glance.

Why do so many males use pictures of their (?) torsos with the heads cut off? Or far-away pictures with a few guys so you don't really know which one he is? Women hate that too, but they still do it.
I think most girls/women use those filters either because they're a little insecure and it hides part of the face but they still get to post a selfie, or because they think it's fun. Most of the girls I know who use them frequently don't really like how they look. So, same reason men do those previously mentioned things, with the added element of fun.

Personally I hate thoes fuckin filters WITH. A. PASSION!! I have zero respect for people who use them as there images for job sites, dating sites or just about any other site where you need to be taken somewhat serious. Use professional photos where appropriate and save the kiddie stuff for your friends/family!!! 😠😡😡😠😡😠😡😠😡😠

I've been wondering the same thing. I've started to conclude that they are just amazed by the technology or perhaps like clothing, makeup, and jewelry... just like adding things to themselves.

My realist hunch though, they think it's cute, know or think they're cute, so they add it to themselves thinking that they're being cute for doing so. Just a weird female trait like that chorus of "aaaawwwwweeee" when somebody brings a toad looking baby or a cockroach looking midget dog around.

I think it's to add a variation to their pictures. They don't want to post the same selfie types every time so they wanna changed it up a bit with them filters. And also some think they are cute and funny.
