All women want to be submissive. AGREE or DISAGREE?

Despite what women say about being equals, most women if not all, deep down are submissive. The difference with the ones that choose otherwise - in order to follow her desires and submit to her man, she needs to feel he is confident, masculine and dominant enough to take control in the relationship.

Reasons for this claim? The amount of romance literature where submission is the dominant theme (ex: 50 shades of gray), and what women say they want sexually in polls/surveys (women prefer to be sexually submissive then dominant).

I found a video of someone interviewing different girls on this topic and the answers were pretty much mixed. This is the video I found:

I think the vast majority of women (over 90%) want to be submissive. Its biology, a man who is dominant is a man who is going to take action and protect her and be able to acquire resources for her and their offspring. Now that doesn't mean she will be submissive to every one, I think the guy has to prove his worth before she submits so that's something to consider, you don't let some one take charge if they are not competent. However I will say yes their are always exceptions however I think for this even the women who claim they are the exception are probably not. Our society pushes women to be more masculine and as such I think a lot of women are not comfortable with being submissive (which is why it comes out in sex to such an extreme degree (as you pointed out 50 shades of grey) so they never learn how to be submissive. However studies and surveys show that women in traditional relationships i. e. she submissive him dominant, are significantly happier and again, surveys show that women actually preffer what is called "benevolent sexism" i. e. the man taking charge, complimenting her on her looks holding the door etc. So I think women do innately desire to submit its just that one, the man must earn that and show that he is competente and that they are taught that its some how wrong to be submissive so they are not comfortable with their desire to submit which can twist how its expressed.

@VonDamme Thank you, the thumbs down is pretty common, and again, its usually for women. As I said I think women have been taught that submitting is some how bad (which is rather strange when you consider that every one submits to some one, even a man submits to his wife when he takes charge because he is placing her needs above his own whether that be by working more to provide for her or putting himself in harms way to protect her (which is why in the bible for instance, which is often misquoted, it states that the wife should submit to the husband but then the next line says that the husband should submit to his wife. Its a dynamic where both are submitting in different ways to the other which ultimately gives both what they need and plays to the strengths of both rather then what I would consider playing to our weaknesses which is what is currently happening), I'm guessing those who down voted me are part of that group. @VonDamme Thank you, it takes a lot of work, I think we naturally want to hold onto an idea because its easier then having to question every little thing. People would rather be certain and wrong then admit to not knowing or being wrong and have the uncertainty that brings. But just the attempt will make you more open to change (even if its grudging). I have found it to be a more productive view point, but it tends to cause conflict with others (since you stop toeing a line you stop belonging to one group or another (discussing politics is fun because you become equally critical to all sides). But ultimately I do think its for the best. It gets you closer to the truth which helps keep your bearings.

Yeah your exactly right, a big part of the psycho-sexual problems (or rather, dissonance) women face these days is largely a result of coercive social engineering. We live in a society predominated by a cultural standard - and feminism to boot - which tells women that what were once regarded as basic male attributes (socio-sexual assertiveness, honour, integrity etc etc) are now something to be reviled.

@FreshOutaIdeas Very true, it has created a cognitive dissonance within women (and to some degree men, however we have not been as subject to this social pressure as women have). They are trying to combat biology with social pressure and biology is just not going to yield, its always going to be their so its expression starts to get skewed since its not able to truly be expressed in its natural state. That's why statistically women where happier in the 50s then they are now, why unmarried women out earn unmarried men but earn considerably less then married men, because they are biologically driven to want to be their to nurture their family while men are biologically wired to want to provide for them to ensure their physical needs are met. Its also why I think so many women go after "assholes", because they have a skewed notion of what is assertive and what isn't (in my experience the asshole is usually simply overcompensating for an insecurity).

She couldn't answer that, basically societal pressure told her that it was bad and that she was better off just working. Pretty much all you've described is what I've seen with my own experiences - and wider society on the whole - and even at my age you see the girls/women between 18-35 that prove time and again they are utterly misdirected in what their minds and bodies truly want.

@FreshOutaIdeas Yes, that would be what I have noticed as well. What I would term it is the difference between the primate brain and the reptilian. Basically the primate brain is the newer and more sophisticated aspect of ourselves, its the part that built civilization. In this state the arch typical masculine identity would be assertive but fair, I characterize it as the father figure, he works hard he provides and he protects, he is kind and wise BUT if you do something wrong he will also be the disciplinarian, he is the leader, he will not tolerate poor behavior as well. It was a medium ground between the weak men and the "asshole" men, it was a balanced man. What happened, again, in my estimation is that things like feminism, the breaking of the home and the replacement of men with the state in the home destroyed this lineage as it was something that was taught and experienced. Now why this happened can be debated but I think the evidence shows that it did in fact happen as most every one in society can tell you something is different and quite frankly wrong with our society currently. So since masculinity was destroyed I think women began to gravitate towards a proto masculinity, the basic characteristics that where hardwired into the reptilian brain. I think you offer an interesting spin on how the male (and female) species have quite rapidly declined, over what I would argue to be over the course of a few centuries/millennium. The devolving of aspects of the brain and therefore the quality of the gene pool on the whole would go a long way to describing how this occurrence seems so endemic.
I also think in addition to this, is the fact that we live under a government/s that are hell bent on reducing the physiological potential of males too, some regard this as "tin foil hat" politics but if you do some digging into not only how artificially industrial most consumer foods are now, but that many chemicals we consume aid to dumb down hormonal levels (T); this would also provide evidence of how the new skinny, "hipster-assshole" look like the "soy boys" I describe. In fact you see the same thing in most empires that reach the decadence period, that's why you will notice ancient greek philosophers ridicule women, its because they where in the same period that we are in. Interestingly they found that the moment women got the right to vote, they started voting for bigger government. The reason being is because as I pointed out women are biologically wired to want protection. @FreshOutaIdeas That said the fact that soy is used as filler in many processed foods which we now are consuming at ever growing levels could explain some of that, however from what I have read testosterone levels don't actually affect hair growth (their are some very "beta soy boy" types that have full beards), however it could affect the androgens that do. But again, I can't say for sure. However genetically we are probably more diverse then ever before so I don't think its a genetic issue (historically you would probably never leave your country, you didnt' have immigration, and you probably didn't have to many marriages that crossed cultural lines like we do now). So that is why I came to the conlusion that I did, it seems to be recurring pattern.

I think society has not helped, its been very unkind towards the masculine but its also been unkind to the feminine as it tends to shame feminine behavior which usually illicits masculine behavior in men. Like you said, this seems to be the consensus with women and dating even if they do not see it as a problem or in the way I have described it. Its all about balance really, same with the feminine. Now your title suggests women want to be submissive generally, as in all parts of her relationship with a man. But your evidence appeals only to a sexual relationship between a man and a woman. Are you only tackling this from a sexual perspective? If so, I suggest you keep digging, I'm interested to hear what comes up. But if not, then I would explore submission in social, economic and political areas as well. History certainly shows that men forced women into being submissive. I like to be PHYSICALLY submissive. I think it's totally hot if a guy is way stronger and bigger than me, and I know he could overpower me if he wanted, but I don't want to be socially submissive, or mentally submissive. For example, the guy requests to the girl to be in lingere and heels and give him a bj and go down so far till she gags and makes a mess on him. She's being submissive to his requests and allowing him to tell her what he wants to see and her to do. She isn't being forced to do those things, she is fulfilling his request - being submissive. Or she requests that he chokes her while having sex, he is having to do something out of his normal and become submissive to her wishes.

Being submissive, you have to be willing to do any activity whether you like it or not but you are still doing it willingly and not being force. So yes, these are completely different things. Being spanked or choked is within my control because I can leave, say no or I can ask for it to happen.

@VonDamme dominant means you are the one that initiates the sex, positions, etc. Being submissive is aggreeing to the initation of the sex from the other person and their suggestions. Being submissive doesn't mean you have to agree to something you don't like, it just means you are not the one initating it or suggesting different positions, use of oils, toys, etc.
