Why does this shy girl keep waving at me?

This shy girl I like has started waving at me in public to get me attention and always wants me to sit next to her - it's quite awkward and weird and she does it in front of other people also.

When I sit next her however she doesn't say much unless I ask her something it's pretty weird. If I get her talking she talks about her family and some holiday she's going and asks me where she should go. She asks me really random questions also.
