For older girls who are looking to settle down:

would you prefer your boyfriend to be playful and fun or mature and serious? I'm having trouble with a particular girl. I'm getting along really well with her but all the laughs and playfulness seems to be getting me in the friend zone. Although the connection is so strong it feels the right thing to do. However, most men my age 30+ are more serious and mature and I can't put my finger on it, but I think that's what older women want? Please give me your input. Thanks.

It depends on her quirks. For me, I LOVE a guy that can be mature and has a sense of humor. That's a common characteristic that all my ex's and my current boyfriend have. I'm not much of a girly-girl and I'm extremely goofy and playful...I would say that I like guys who have a balance, they know when to be serious but have a great sense of humor. But all girls are different.

yeah I figured that. but its so easy to be with her. without even trying we are totally in synch and connect. now however, I haven't talked to her in weeks because she started going out with a new guy. I don't know if they are still together but he is the serious type. from what I heard he's mature and serious with a solid job etc. my friends who seen him say he's very short, chubby and is balding. so I'm super confused as to what the heck happened. continued form below... settle down. so I think I played this all wrong. although it was totally natural from my side and I didn't want to be fake. I loved being with her and going out with her. it really really hurts to know that she had been hanging out with someone else. some days I miss her a lot. I didn't play any games, maybe that's why I didn't make her feel like I'm the one all the time :(

no dude, that's not the answer. that'll make me sound like a loser and the guy whos lingering around waiting for her and thinking about her while she's been with someones else.. My buddies say Man up and be the man. ( I am pretty good looking ) and they say I oughta "seduce" her make her attracted to me again and also date her friends etc. To be truthful, I just don't like those games. I just want the kind of love you see in movies.

From a girls perspective it wouldn't make you a loser, I prefer that. Seducing her would be a d*** move honestly, I had a guy do it b4 and it realllllly pisses me off and makes me hate him more and more when I think about it, Andif you don't want somethin serious maybe its just time to move on and let her be happy because sounds like she wants a relationship...but that's just going off this convo...

im almost 22 so I'm just outside your target age but I'd like a guy who can be all of these things and know when each is appropriate. I go for guys who are 25-30 because most of them seem to have a good balance.

There's a time and place for everything. Age is just a number. Keep your youth and even when aging together being silly just to make the other person laugh means alot. It's OK to make fun of yourself, not as much to make fun of the other person though. Be funny, be one with them. Share the funny story from earlier in the day or even the ones you talked about with friends. That can bring you guys closer. Most importantly, be yourself.

To settle down, he's got to have all those qualities. Though even dating I look for some measure of that.
