In this case Cara shaved her head for a movie role playing a cancer victim. I don't think there is one simple answer. Different people have different reasons.
stop making generalizations. girls can do whatever the fuck they’d like with their appearance. it is up to no one else but themselves. we honestly don’t care about your preferences.
So you're okay with telling me to not make generalization yet you're saying that anyone can do whatever they want. WoW! P. S. it's alright if you don't care. Move on.
if you used your brain you’d notice that i said girls can do whatever they want with their APPEARANCE. and you’re being sexist by saying women must be feminine in order to be accepted. so shut your hypocritical ass up.
Women have a right to be as hedonistic as they wish and to dress however they wish. However, they shouldn't complain if men do not find them attractive as a result of this.
You're saying it's not my place to criticize but it's their place to do whatever they want! That's SEXIST. I just asked a question, never said that they should do this or do that.
LOL! That girl looks about 105 pounds and as if she couldn't even lift 50 pounds over her head. I think I might be able to touch my index finger and thumb together around her arm. She looks really tough.
I don't know maybe because all the "women are just as good/ better than men" stuff is being pushed so hard. And people are sick of it? I really don't know hopefully it's not that though lol, that would be sorta backwards.
The way we look is gender specific. Do you know women grew boobs to attract men? It's a visual thing. Girls and boys appear different so it's easy to differentiate. Nowadays girls are doing whatnot to be like men, Look like men. That's not good.
Physical features such as breasts are gender specific true enough, but hairstyles aren't. If neither gender engaged in grooming our hair wether male or female would grow long and look much the same. Hairstyles are about as gender specific as shoes
Most men go bald. Women have chose bald men throughout history more than full head of hair men. Its genetic. Its a masculine look, because feminine is long hair.
@bamesjond0069 actually historically men always had long hair, short hair is a fairly modern thing. And you were talking about gender specific hairstyles so the hair onto0 of your head, how does facial hair effect hairstyles?
I'm not saying women always used to cut their hair short I. Saying hairstyles are not gender specific and that long hair isn't a feminine trait. I notice you dodged probing your point so just a baseless opinion then
Again you get it wrong, a gender specific trait is biological such as male facial hair. If men and women stopped getting haircuts both would have long hair, the unique traits would be racial in terms of colouring, curly/straight etc but gender would make no difference. If your referencing social trends then in the short term men have tended to have shorter hair in some (largely western influenced) cultures but historically long hair was always viewed as masculine and a sign of health and virility hence why stories such as Samson exist
Samson is biblical story where the power was in his hairs. Read Bible ffs. And people can cut their hairs for a long time. So why didn't women shave their heads before? Why long hairs? Because it's a feminine hairstyle.
The story of Samson is rooted in the historic view of male hair length being a sign of strength health and virility. Your referencing recent culture and societal views which fluctuate a lot, it doesn't show a gender trait just a societal view for a period of history
Samson story is rooted in bible. I am not christian so idgaf. But you still didn't answer my question, women would have cut their hairs before too. Why didn't they? Because it wasn't feminine to cut the hairs.
Historically most men have gone bald. Its genetic. Not a hairstyle. Less men go bald today due to medications and surgery but about 80% of men will go full or partially bald without medical intervention. So yeah. That was the typical male look for a man in his 30s and up through most of history.
If you're bringing in biblical stories, would you like me to bring in Hindu stories? 😂 Let's have a religious debate. Because that's what you're doing.
Nope I was having a cultural debate. Religion is a part of culture and is influenced by it. Religious texts tend to be a helpful insight into older cultures and societies.
Yeah, some interesting references to long hair being a cultural thing for Hindus, referencing male and female sporting it and it being linked to a male deity
Cutting and shaving of hair were in vogue (in vogue means in fashion). Scissors, razors and knives are mentioned in the Vedas.
LONG HAIR was regarded WOMANLY (SB 5-1-2-14). This shows women had long hair and they prayed for long hair. In the Mahabharata Draupadi vowed not to tie her hair until Dusshsana was killed and his blood is smeared in her hair. Women don’t dress their hair when their husbands were away.
When a woman was pregnant the ‘seemanta’ ceremony is done and lot of bangles are given to the woman. This seemanta means parting the hair. Kataka Samhita 23-1 mentioned this parting with the thorn of a porcupine – ‘salali’
Yeah as I said some references to woman having long hair, along with references to men having long hair as well and in a single faith. In Sikhism, Islam, Christianity, paganism, long hair was traditionally male and in some is still seen as
To the men having long hairs, you're referring to Hindu God Shiva. He was a Yogi. Yogi are saints who don't care about the fashion. They either go bald or don't cut their hairs. In Sikhism, it's prohibited to cut hairs. The pagg (turban) that they wear is containing hairs inside. Women are also prohibited to cut the hairs. So do you understand how long hairs were always feminine?
Read your article again it referred to males with long hair, not just gods that are linked to hinduism. Nope you have made a couple of points about long hair being a cultural thing in the past in hinduism, not that it is feminine and you keep acknowledging men having long hair in many other cultures or are you calling all those cultures feminine?
It also says that long hairs were feminine. And it doesn't speak about other cultures. It speaks about Hindu living in Iraq. They used to make dreadlocks. Shiva hairs are dreadlocks. And it was never that women used to cut their hairs. Long hairs was regarded WOMANLY. And the people who are told to have long hairs are all saints. Rama is a God but he was on an exile and lived in forest for 14 years. Don't think he had the time or resources while on exile to take care of his hairs. The Sikh, well, in their texts it's prohibited to cut the hairs. Still only men wear turbans. Why? Because long hairs is womanly and turbans are pride of Sikh men.
So a couple of references in one culture and you think it dictates global femininity? This is helping me understand why indian men have so much trouble with woman online, this sort of thing is culturally oppressive and largely designed to control people
LMAO 🤣 you were the only one bringing in culture. First you brought in Bible, then brought in Sikhism and now are trying to attack me on a personal and national level. Irrespective of all that you said still the truth is truth. And long hairs are womanly/feminine. And you can't change facts.
I never said they are, I said aspects of one culture from the global collective said they were. Do you not understand that one or to quotes from hinduism don't represent the world?
Do you know Hinduism is the oldest culture/religion? And do you know that shiv lingam was found all over the world!😆 So I believe it was a pretty global culture once upon a time.
Come visit India! Every aged woman will tell you the same thing. "Baal aurat ka gehna hota hai" this means hairs are the jewel of a woman. This saying is very common. It's not an opinion. It's a fact.
A saying is an opinion not a fact. Trump supporters say he's the greatest ever president. Saying it doesn't make it fact. It's been interesting chatting to you, but I think we shall have to agree to disagree
It's still an expression of opinion not a fact. I have a friend with very short hair, she is relentlessly harassed by indian men online who think it's sexy as hell. As I said before I think this is a point where we agree to disagree before it stops being an interesting, fun chat
Pretty sure we were talking about the old days and the fact that long hairs are feminine. Your friend might be a hot girl. But still that doesn't change the fact that long hairs were considered feminine and are considered feminine. P. S. horny boys don't look at hairs, they look at something else.
You started this talking about modern women's hairstyles so no it wasn't just about the past. When the pic is of her hair there isn't much else to look at. So your really not going to acknowledge us each having the right to our own view on this then?
The question is why are women trying to be masculine? And my example was that women are going for buzzcut/shaved head. You said hairstyles WERE (were is past tense) never masculine or feminine. You took the argument to the past. I just proved you wrong. It seems you don't have the guts to accept defeat eventho you clearly lost.
You used one culture from one part of the world and used subjective opinions with no facts whatsoever. This is what I hate about this site, so many people who can't accept that differences in views will exist or that their culture isn't the only global view on a subject and so many people that utterly fail to understand the difference between fact and opinion. It's juvenile at best and dangerous at worst. I offered you a way out that kept things amicable and you instead want to oppose your view on me? That is oppressive behaviour. I never tried to impose my view on you. We debated and I ended saying we each have the right to our own views which I'm sure comes from our different cultures. I respected your right to your own view and your trying to force yours on me in return?
Um you have right to your views but we ain't playing the make feel good game. Literally everywhere in the old times girls used to never cut their hairs because long hairs were a feminine thing. Men were the only ones who used to have short hairs. Some men used to have long hairs but women never used to have short hairs, why? Because long hairs on women were feminine.
Because some want to is why. Cara looks great in that cut. Yeah it might be considered a traditionally masculine hair cut but that doesn't mean that's the goal of the wearer.
You never considered its actually just simply a much more managable hairstyle? N besides, who says you can't look feminine n gorgeous with it too. You clear ly ohcked t he wrong picture, Cara Delevigne, to illustrate your point. She just looks even hotter!! N the funny thing is my boyfriend agrees with me! Bwhahahaha hahahahaha Geez lolol. 🤣😂🤣😂😅😅😂🤣🤣😂😅🤣😎😎😎😎😎😎😎😎😎
Because since K-12, and college, they have been indoctrinated with man-hate and have been programmed to out perform men. Karl would be amazed how easy it was.
Yeah! It is @Miristheiss It's about "we are women, we are strong" bullshit. I am not saying they aren't strong. All I am saying is men are men and women are women.
"You sound so sad? I could as you men the same thing? Why not try to more masculine instead?"
We do, and we get accused of having 'toxic masculinity'. Yet if we don't display the same traits associated with 'toxic masculinity' we get shamed and told we're too feminine.
And that's a problem. Because they are finding comfort in being a man. Something they are not. They are not a man. So what's the reason why they find it comfortable being a man? Something to think about.
How are they finding comfort in being a man? You can dress a certain way without wanting to be a man. You can be and feel very feminine with short hair and whatnot.
Is having muscles, six pack abs, short hairs quality of female sex? I don't think so. A healthy female will be chubby and that's because of the amount of estrogen in her body.
You can still be feminine with those qualities though. Look at celebrities with shorter hair, they still look very womanly. (Lisa Cimorelli and Emma Watson, for example.)
A healthy female will be chubby - Uh, since when? So what, I'm unfeminine and unhealthy because I'm thin? Being chubby isn't healthy.
It's fine to have preferences for long hair and whatnot, but I think we need to just let people live and dress how they like.
Emma Watson is feminine?😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 Thanks for the laugh. Chubby not according to American standard where chubby means morbidly obese. Chubby in the sense, more fat and the right places, ass and boobs and thighs.
My dude, the reason why some girls cut their hair short is because sometimes long hair gets in the way. Like in the mouth, getting in your face, the wind blowing it around like crazy. And also maybe they find it cute! I've seen girls with short hair that I thought looked super cute that I wanted! It isn't because they trying to be masculine, not is some cases anyway. ITS NOT BECAUSE THEIR TRYING TO BE A MAN! Your taking this way too far dude. Plus, these girls are giving you the answers and your blowing things up out of proportion and telling them their wrong? No matter how much you hate it, their still going to do it. And there are even dudes who grow their hair long and I like it! I know two dudes with long hair and they look awesome. And why do they do it? Maybe because they love it and it looks awesome, not because they're trying to be feminine. They are in no way feminine. You need to learn some respect dude.
There's a difference between buzzcut/shaven head and short hairs! Pretty sure I said buzzcut/shaved head in my question 😉 I am respectful as much as I need to be.
Some people find androgynous beauty very attractive or empowering. I’m gonna cite Shakespeare’s Twelfth Night like an actual loser but yeah— androgyny has been considered attractive by many for centuries.
The women that are tending to being a bit more masculine are simply expressing themselves. I personally find this very sexy as women who are confident in their sexuality are the sexiest. Live and let live.
Maybe that's what they like and when they go to get these styles they're not thinking about the opinions of guys. Maybe they're doing what makes them happy and feel confident.
That's a misconception. Women and men dress to impress. Way before the mirrors, the females used to dress nicely. Why? To attract a high tier male. Dressing up is always to impress.
She looks in the mirror and likes what she's sees and feels like she is being her authentic self. Looking and feeling your best doesn't always have to be centered around getting attention. It might be that way for some people but not everyone.
I am sensitive about women losing femininity. There was a time when gay were frowned upon, now they are celebrated. They are celebrated so much that recently I read a question by a kid who was getting confused about his sex. He was sure that he's hetrosexual but there was something that was making him uncomfortable about himself. If this continues, girls will be uncomfortable in being feminine.
So you care more about yourself and people you found attractive, rather than them being comfortable and loving themselves. Idek what being feminine means? Is it liking the color pink? Like? Why does it matter? Life isn't about you.

They want to shave their hair. So what? Men want to have their hair long. And?
I think it’s high time to start talking about why this bothers people so much. It’s just a haircut.
Masculinity is defined by hair to you?
Yes, it is. Men have short hairs. Women have long.
You need to get in check with reality.
Awwww! I am in check with reality.
Then you’d realize that men and women do as they please and the length of hair doesn’t define who they are.
Can you read English? My question was not why are Humans going what they want. My question is why are woman trying to be more masculine!
They aren’t.
In this case Cara shaved her head for a movie role playing a cancer victim.
I don't think there is one simple answer. Different people have different reasons.
I didn't post that pic. But do you think that is a feminine look? Buzzcut or shaved head?
What do you think of men with long hair or that wear a dressed?
If there no full beard with long hair, then the person is trans. Same with dressed.
Then why are you posting YouTube videos of someone you don't respect?
Which video?
stop making generalizations. girls can do whatever the fuck they’d like with their appearance. it is up to no one else but themselves. we honestly don’t care about your preferences.
So you're okay with telling me to not make generalization yet you're saying that anyone can do whatever they want. WoW! P. S. it's alright if you don't care. Move on.
yes, i said girls can do what they want with their appearance and it is not your place to criticize or berate them.
Why is it alright for girls to do whatever they want but not alright for me to do whatever I want? That's you being sexist.
if you used your brain you’d notice that i said girls can do whatever they want with their APPEARANCE. and you’re being sexist by saying women must be feminine in order to be accepted. so shut your hypocritical ass up.
Women have a right to be as hedonistic as they wish and to dress however they wish. However, they shouldn't complain if men do not find them attractive as a result of this.
that’s fair. and sometimes... we dress a certain way because WE like it!
You're saying it's not my place to criticize but it's their place to do whatever they want! That's SEXIST. I just asked a question, never said that they should do this or do that.
If they want to be accepted*
do you hear yourself? you’re literally criticizing women for not meeting men’s standards of femininity. how am i the sexist one here?
There's no men's standard of femininity. There's something called femininity and masculinity. That's constant.
no. it’s not constant. it’s fluid, accept it.
It's not fluid.
it’s a spectrum. and no matter how feminine or masculine a women is or chooses to be, she is valid.
It's not a spectrum.
ok. why isn’t it?
Why is it?
A woman cutting her hair doesn't automatically equate to her trying to look masculine. She could just be exploring a new style.
Don't you think buzzcut and shaved head is not feminine at all?
It may not be associated with femininity but it doesn't mean she's trying to look masculine
It looks really good on some women and for some, they still look feminine
I beg to differ
That's fine
If a woman still looks pretty and feminine with a shaved head or a buzz, and no makeup, she's 100% fine as hell. That is all.
Why is having shorter hair masculine? Guys with long hair or no facial hair aren't seen as being feminine
By who? And it's not short hairstyles, it's boyish hairstyles and not feminine hairstyles. Do you think buzzcut/shaved head is feminine?
I think it's a haircut and I don't see why hairstyles need to labelled as masculine or feminine
Because we aren't same.
Yes men and women aren't the same, but gender isn't a hairstyle. You missed the point. Why is a hairstyle genderspecific?
The way we look is gender specific. Do you know women grew boobs to attract men? It's a visual thing. Girls and boys appear different so it's easy to differentiate. Nowadays girls are doing whatnot to be like men, Look like men. That's not good.
Physical features such as breasts are gender specific true enough, but hairstyles aren't. If neither gender engaged in grooming our hair wether male or female would grow long and look much the same. Hairstyles are about as gender specific as shoes
If we won't groom, we'll look very different. Men have beards. Women don't.
Facial hair is irrelevant to your point your trying to make. You were talking about hairstyles not facial hair
Facial HAIRS!! And your point was that if we won't groom, we'll look alike. That's not the case.
The point was that we are DIFFERENT.
Yes men and women are biologically different, I haven't disputed that. But hairstyle isn't biological it's a style
Long hairstyle is feminine.
Why?
Because it shows the nurturing trait. It's hard to take care of long hair but if a girl does then that shows that she's nurturing.
That's an opinion, there is no correlation between nurturing behaviour and hairlength
There is. Like I said.
Saying something is stating an opinion, if it's true provide evidence to prove it
I got long hair and earrings and I'm an extremely handsome youngcman.. that is not an opinion, that's a fact
You prove me wrong. Prove me that females used to cut their hairs short since the beginning and used to do buzzcut/shave head.
I'm not saying women always used to cut their hair short I. Saying hairstyles are not gender specific and that long hair isn't a feminine trait. I notice you dodged probing your point so just a baseless opinion then
Well, if it's not gender specific then why didn't women used to have short hairs like men? Because it was gender specific.
Again you get it wrong, a gender specific trait is biological such as male facial hair. If men and women stopped getting haircuts both would have long hair, the unique traits would be racial in terms of colouring, curly/straight etc but gender would make no difference. Being Christian isn't the point I'm not myself, its about how it reflects historic views. Do you not get where the basis of these stories comes from
It's a biblical story. It comes from Bible. It doesn't reflect historic views. It reflects Christian views.
It reflects the views of society at the time, society shaped what went in the bible
Pretty sure Bible is book of God and God shaped what went in the Bible.
The bible was written by people not god and has been rewritten several times
If you're bringing in biblical stories, would you like me to bring in Hindu stories? 😂 Let's have a religious debate. Because that's what you're doing.
Nope I was having a cultural debate. Religion is a part of culture and is influenced by it. Religious texts tend to be a helpful insight into older cultures and societies.
Wanna talk about Hindu culture? Trust me. This debate will end at once. And I will win. Hence, please keep religion out of this.
So a dismissal of an important part of a culture then? Tells me everything I need to know there
tamilandvedas.com/.../ read this.
Yeah, some interesting references to long hair being a cultural thing for Hindus, referencing male and female sporting it and it being linked to a male deity

It's not a political saying tho! It's a cultural saying. And everyone was part of culture so everyone said that.

And? What is your point.
She's not feminine. She's a tomboyish girl. A boyish girl.
And you care why?
Why the f do you care to know?😏
Because I'm bored and I find people who ask amusing questions like these entertaining.
You never considered its actually just simply a much more managable hairstyle? N besides, who says you can't look feminine n gorgeous with it too. Certainly I ain't your boyfriend not do I care😂
Pity for you you'll never find out just how feminine my muffin is lol. 😎😎😎😂🤣😂🤣😂
Awwww 🤗 guess what? I don't want to find out either.

because we're women and we want to me men lmao
You sound so sad? I could as you men the same thing? Why not try to more masculine instead?
You can put your body on my body too😉 but you don't WANT to. My question isn't about can or can't. My question is about WANT
Yeah, it's called freedom. It's been around in the west for quite a long time.
Anyone gets to choose what they do with their bodies.
That's not really any type of a "statement".
Is this kind of one of these completely made up oppressions people pretend they are "fighting" against.
Straight up. When a man will be able to get pregnant and a woman to have a dick than will be equal.
Some of them do it by choice and some are shamed for being feminine because feminists hate femininity.
It's just sad that some women who are actually feminine get bullied by feminists. They always ignore the fact about how our brains are hardwired.
And I actually prefer feminine women who enjoys being the way she is who loves men.
I prefer the same thing bro!
Maybe they like the style, or are more comfortable looking that way. The simple answer is: Because they want to.
And that's a problem. Because they are finding comfort in being a man. Something they are not. They are not a man. So what's the reason why they find it comfortable being a man? Something to think about.
I'm a bit confused by your wording.
How are they finding comfort in being a man? You can dress a certain way without wanting to be a man. You can be and feel very feminine with short hair and whatnot.
What's femininity?
According to the merriam websterr, Feminity - the quality or nature of the female sex
Yeah, she's very feminine in my eyes. Nonetheless, I think it's best to agree to disagree.
@LonelyWolf9025 YES. Well said. 👏👏
There's a difference between buzzcut/shaven head and short hairs! Pretty sure I said buzzcut/shaved head in my question 😉 I am respectful as much as I need to be.
@Twenty2 and some of these same women rant against gays and trannies 😂😂😂
Some people find androgynous beauty very attractive or empowering. I’m gonna cite Shakespeare’s Twelfth Night like an actual loser but yeah— androgyny has been considered attractive by many for centuries.
The women that are tending to being a bit more masculine are simply expressing themselves. I personally find this very sexy as women who are confident in their sexuality are the sexiest. Live and let live.
Expressing that they are men?
I would say that these women are confident in their ability sexuality and in their feminaty also. Not trying to be guys.
Their femininity is masculinity. Masculinity is masculine trait. They are trying to be like guys.
Well not all women dress to impress men some dress to express themselves and because it makes them happy.
Why does it make them happy? Because people look at her, give her attention, treat her nicely. Dressing up is never for oneself.
She looks in the mirror and likes what she's sees and feels like she is being her authentic self. Looking and feeling your best doesn't always have to be centered around getting attention. It might be that way for some people but not everyone.
Pretty sure it's everyone. It's just happening in subconscious mind.
It's nothing serious. They just like having short hair. Less to take care of.
There's a difference between short hairs and buzz cut and shave head.
Sure. Regardless, they just like that style and it's less to take care of. Why are you so sensitive about it?
I am sensitive about women losing femininity. There was a time when gay were frowned upon, now they are celebrated. They are celebrated so much that recently I read a question by a kid who was getting confused about his sex. He was sure that he's hetrosexual but there was something that was making him uncomfortable about himself. If this continues, girls will be uncomfortable in being feminine.
So you care more about yourself and people you found attractive, rather than them being comfortable and loving themselves. Idek what being feminine means? Is it liking the color pink? Like? Why does it matter? Life isn't about you.
Awww 🤗 I think you're not getting me kas. This thing is deeper and I am certain you are like that and hence, aren't able to understand.
Nah.
