What do you think about a girl eating out alone?

So right now I’m at a restaurant and I actually do this often, taking myself out to eat. It started because I run marathons and wanted to treat myself to some good pasta the night before a race. Which is what I’m doing rn! But there is a part of me deep down that feels something is wrong with this. I like that I’m independent and confident to do this. But sometimes looking around I do feel a little awkward like people think it’s sad. Anyways - I’m trying not to be so antisocial and am asking a guy if he wants to go out after my race tomorrow. Hopefully he doesn’t turn me down. Thoughts?

It's perfectly socially acceptable to eat out by yourself. I do it a lot as well and feel pretty awkward sometimes. Don't try and think about what others are thinking through and just try to enjoy your own company. It's just as important to have time to yourself as it is to have time with other people. It can be pretty enjoyable as well to do things like this alone sometimes as you can spend as little or as much time as you want out and you don't have to worry about other peoples preferences.

Good luck in the marathon and don't take it personally if the guy turns you down.

People are social creatures so it feels off even if you are independent strong self-loving woman. In all reality when people look at you they aren't thinking you are sad it's your internal drive to be social telling you to communicate I spend plenty of time alone in restaurants and I get the same glances

I dont think its sad AT ALL. I do this to myself too. Sometimes, i eat alone, i go shopping for stuff alone, go to the movies alone, it’s good for my soul. I don’t care what people think. ❤️

For me it's ok. I've done that several times and told my friends about it. They asks me if I'm sad I told them I just want to have some "me" time that's all.

I eat out alone a lot too and I’ve seen women doing the same. I’ve never liked the idea of anyone eating alone and I’ve always wondered what would happen if I asked a woman if she’d mind me eating with her and explain why? What would you say?

Going out with other girls would work too. I like cooking at home, once you get good at it it's hard to beat. I also like when women know how to cook, cooking together feels super intimate.
