Why is this girl still awkward and nervous with me years after rejecting me?

This girl who rejected me years ago is always nervous and awkward around me. After she rejected me, I left her alone and never tried to make her change her mind. That would be a waste of time...

When I see her around she acts like she's scared of me or something. Always nervous, fidgety, and staring at me from a distance. She likes to be near me for some reason.
We don't talk other then hello when I see her, nothing more.

She told me years ago she doesn't like me and never will, so there is no point in wasting my time with her. ( She was kinda harsh with the rejection, made up stories about me to her friends) I leave her alone and never plan on asking her out again. So why is she so scared of me?

She's starting to make me uncomfortable because I don't know what she wants from me.

Unless you did something wrong towards her, there is no normal reason why she would be awkward and nervous around you years after she rejected you. Her actions may not follow a logical pattern, but stem from a personality flaw or disorder, etc.

Yeah, I agree. Women are emotional creatures, so not expecting logical pattern.

I was referring to the possibility that she has some issue that most women do not have, perhaps some psychological issues, that keeps the situation between you and her, emotionally alive and awkward over years of time.

Because she knows that you are attracted to her. And was at some point. Plus at the same time, she may only wants to be a friend, but you only want her for one thing basically. She's now scared because she don't want to get hurt again.
