She doesn't seem socially gifted or anything, and is obviously pretty guarded and closed off. She has a reputation of leading guys on then blowing them off, and also has a reputation of being really guarded. Whatever the reason, it's pretty insecure behavior.

Would you assume the reputation of leading guys on stems from her being guarded and cautious about letting people in?

Or would you assume she's guarded as a result of the backlash she faces from leading guys on (guys don't handle being led on very well, and she's guarded because she plays with fire and it's an attempt at self-preservation after starting fires)?

Or is she probably just high up there on the narcissism scale, and just doesn't give a shit about anyone else's feelings? She hardly talks to anyone or have many friends, any many other women don't like her, so she could just be a narcissist.

I avoided being seen in public at my old job cause I did not want a reputation for leading guys on - I spent most of my time at Starbucks and just arrived at the work lunch room 5-15 minutes before my shift and the only males I talked to were the 80 year old seniors or the 75 year olds or my friend from work who talked to me over a dozen times before I gave him my number - I might have had a reputation for leading guys on cause the guys at work collectively ignored me and acted like they hated me and I had no clue why - why week everybody was super nice - the next day - everybody hated me that worked in that department and was male

Maybe she likes to test the water and you didn’t meet her standards. Perhaps she sensed you were just lusting all over her and just wanted sex, and that overwhelmed her and pissed her off at the same time.
