Girls, do you think your dishwasher is your biggest help in the kitchen?

We have a dishwasher but we never use it except once or twice a year - its very bad quality - sometimes smashes things together if they aren't placed securely enough and takes over 25 minutes to wash the dishes - also does not wash them fully clean if you don't put enough dish washing detergent inside
My dishwasher washes the dishes for at least an hour. Drying is included. And it cleans them perfectly crystal clear.
🤣🤣🤣
I don't hate washing the dishes. I just can no longer do it since my rotar cuff injury and surgery. So do I find my dishwasher extremely important?
Yes I do!
My dishwasher is MY MAN
He is my BIGGEST HELP! I can't imagine my life without HIM !
Thank you very much for the mho!
Yes! I haven't had a dishwasher in 3 or 4 years and when it was just me and hubs that was easy but being a mom I find that in order to keep up on dishes especially dinner dishes it really is a life saver. Hopefully we find a place soon that has a dish washer and laundry area im so tired of traveling with a toddler to do laundry as well
Yes! But to be fair, she does a LOT more than just wash the dishes! I mean she takes care of the whole house, and cooks! Hell, she used to pick my brother and I up from school before I got my driver’s license! She’s like part of the family, she even taught me some Spanish! “Hola, soy una flacca chica blanca con demasiado privilegio” (that’s Spanish for, “hello, you seem nice. Welcome to our country”)
av been told from a good few people dish washers are good but i prefer to wash dishes with my hands to make everything is off the stuff you watch so its sparkling clean and a good few people have also said diswashers dont clean the dishes properly sometimes i rather do it with my hands
OMG I wash dishes all the time. I don't know why I've grown accustomed to washing dishes by hand and I've heard that if you put the dishes in the dishwasher it has a hard time cleaning them. Personally me I dont prefer using a dishwasher because id rather not stress to see if all the stains have been cleaned off and id rather do them manually. I do however like to put my dishes on a dish rack to let them dry but thats just me.
the time and energy taken loading and unloading is better served by hand washing in real time. Even pre washing anything you can so you can concentrate fully enjoying your meal. Dishwashers are the most overated rip off. Its math and physics and timing. You will have to second guess what your dishwasher did every time. Rather than spending less time doing it right by hand..
Although our house has a dishwasher. Its just my dad and myself so we wash the dishes by hand and put them in a drying rack and then I put them away in the morning. My bigest help in the kitchen are my dogs and cats between them they take care of all the scraps of food left over so there's no food waste in my house
Well I really hate, haate washing trays and pans and a dishwasher is not really helpful for those so even if I had it I wouldn’t use it as much as plates and smaller items are kind of therapeutic to wash.. but if there’s a magical one that can deal with greasy oven trays.. I’d get it lol
I plan on only hand washing my dishes, I'm a lover of all things retro and I don't cut corners when i say that. I don't want any modern appliances in my home that go past 1945. The dishwasher was invented int he 1886 but it wasn't modernized or used really until the 1970s.
I'd rather wash them immediately. With the dishwasher I hate putting them away so they stay in the dishwasher and I start putting the new dirty plates on top. :)
I always start the machine in the evening right after the dinner :)
Run a light rinse. So the dishes in there don't have dried on food.
my dishwasher is the best looking one I could get, my husband is my dishwasher ,
Poor guy! :)
I would quite simply die if my dishwasher was to do the same.
Agreed! :)
I used to hate my dishwasher. But when I switched from powder detergent to Cascade Platinum, I developed a whole new respect for it! I'm totally serious!

No, I honestly don’t use mine at all and actually prefer to do it all by hand
Great answer washing them with hands u can actually see ure cleaning them perfecto
@chevymcgthatsme : But the machine washes them with very hot water, sanitizing them.
Yeah but sometimes not good enough and by the time u wash ure dishes the dishwasher would be longer hands are handy
oh yes totally!!! I don't hate washing dishes, I just don't like spending the time washing them. and specially by hand, it takes a lot of time to get the dirt off, sometimes you have to wash them more than once
Sometimes wish washers aren't that good hand washing gets every single tiny bit off sometimes dishwasher leave a little mark not all the time now and then they don't clean properly hand washing is much more cleaner
I actually don’t have a dishwasher. But I just use that opportunity to blast music and jam out while I wash dishes. And my younger daughter enjoys the bubbles so sometimes we do them together and talk. 😊
No, not really 😂 I only use it to store plates once they are all cleaned up. I have never actually used a dishwasher for cleaning plates. Not using a dishwasher is actually very common in most Asian homes.
Its handy in the kitchen but remember sometimes dishwashers dont lift up every peace of dirt of some things I prefer to use my hands so I can see when I wash them to make sure every stain is off and properly to
While I enjoy my dishwasher because it is silent, makes no noise whatsoever, I totally love the 48" inch Bertozzoni range my husband bought last winter. It just adds so much to our kitchen. Look them up online, I bet you'll want one too.
My Bosch is heavensent. I could NEVER get my dishes that clean and that amazing machine is QUIET!!!
Absolutely agreed. A life without a dishwashing machine is impossible for me :)
Not impossible, but the machines steam clean and sanitize to an extent that no human can, unless you get a cheap one. This is my third. First two were terrible maytags. This thing I could marry. I paid for two lousy, noisy dishwashers, then spent same amount for a great one. Consumer Reports took me away!!!
Brand?
I'm the dishwasher in my house 😂 My family does have one but we just use it as storage for dishes, never used it before. But while I imagine it as convenient and I personally hate doing dishes, I prefer hand washing dishes.
Yes. Dishes are tedious. I don't like doing the dishes by hand at all.. its almost as bad as folding laundry and putting it away!! One of the best inventions that is taken for granted for sure!
Yes it definitely is. I also hate washing the dishes and I always take longer to wash them manually.
It saves me a lot of time and I can do other things while it's working.
I would love a dishwasher. I grew up with one but we are currently renting so we figure why put in all that money when we are just going to be buying a house soon. So yes I would say it helps out a lot.
I actually don’t mind washing dishes. I enjoy cleaning my kitchen (as opposed to other things that I don’t like) but that does probably have something to do with the dishwasher.
My dishwasher saves a lot of time and money it cleans well crystal clear and uses far less water then had washing I run it every night. It is also very quiet and take about and hour or so for a cycle.
not really.. I do not have a dishwasher and live fine without it. I rather want my blender for example. Also as a single person it takes days to fill it, and then I'd anyway want to rinse everything.
Only when we use cascade pods is it helpful 😂 Nah, it helps most of the time. Sometimes food is still stuck on the plates or utensils. Usually not though. Cascade pods though clean it really well.
No way, the dishwasher has been broken since ‘94. Plastic plates, silverware, paper towels, and bowls are of bigger up and don’t forget the $1 pots, pans, bowls. They come in handy dandy
I have a dishwasher but I prefer handwashing all my dishes. My son likes to open the dishwasher while its running so it's pretty much impossible to ever run anyways
