Requested by fashion designers to showcase their oftentimes ridiculous dresses 4. Pressured by their s. o. to look hot 5. Trying to make an ex feel sorry they broke up

Looking sexy does not make you a tramp, does not make you a cheap body, it does not objectify you or harm the image of women in general.
People have turned "sexy" into a bad word and I can't understand why. All these photos show a certain kind of fashon, might not be for everyone but it's a style and there's nothing wrong woth it. They are still respectable people.
I remember a time where it was ok to look good but not it's not anymore and that's just sad.
Because they are selling their bodies, essentially like a p0rnstar, they are doing what Belle Delphine does without the "personal-ness" of it, they are using their popularity to get the obsessive fans to drool even more and buy more of their stuff, it is marketing really.
Some celebrities can stay relevant just with their talent but others have to stay relevant by keeping people talking about them so they always end up in gossip magazines and wear "provocative" outfits etc.
Though some of these photos are from runway shows where they dont have choice in what they wear.
Wearing daring outfits to events gets you attention, which is good.
Guarantee if you look at pap pics 99% of the time every single one of these people are snapped looking like the rest of us just living their daily lives.
So they spend an outlandish amount to dress like tramps when they can do it for free on the street corner? Are any of them anyone to be jealous about? Half of them probably got their start on Weinstein's couch.
They are looking for shock value that will propel them in their careers. Also, the more attention they get, the more people follow them, and the more jobs they get, at higher pay. In other words, they dress the way they do, because it appeals to many people, and it makes them more money.
problem is that they are just as much victims in this culture of celebrity... its the women that dress like those you listed that become more successful whilst more talented females who refuse to give in to media pressure to pander to male dominated industries that are far too often ignored

Probably because they aren't worried about what people think. Also a lot of events like the Met Gala are the perfect place to do it, since a lot of outfits are about aesthetic and fashion which can involve a lot of exposed skin. If you can, why not 🤷
Because any publicity is good publicity for celebrities. Career going north or south for them, it still benefits them and keeps them relevant and in the spotlight.

Because sex sells and at the end of the day, they are trying to make money. It is just part of their job. Dressing outrageously keeps people interested in them and keeps the cash flow coming. Note that female celebrities who do not dress this way usually fade from public consciousness or hit a wall in the work available to them.
This is not indicative of a problem with the celebrity or the industry, per se, but rather an uncomfortable truth about audiences and natural human desires.
Getting your face in front of the public is the name of the publicity game. Bland clothing won't do it. Viewers get insensitive to "normal" stuff, so each succeeding show, each subsequent movie, each new gala opening, has to have something a bit more showier, more risque, or just plain sluttier, for people to "take notice".
Upward spiral in recognition usually comes with a reciprocal downward spiral in propriety.
it's quite funny. you should see a pornstar award show. for some reason, pornstars dress quite modestly and classy in the public eye, while stars that aren't associated with sex work basically look like prostitutes. i don't understand why but that's evidently a thing. maybe it comes from the fact, that as a pornstar, you won't get any PR being naked on an award show xD cause people can see you naked in all of your work anyway.

It gives them attention. The more out there you are as a celebrity, the more people will be talking about you aka increasing your sales and Instagram likes. It’s an advertising scheme.

Those 'clothes', advertising some 'fashion brand' and after seeing it on some 'celebrity', SOOO many sheep-people go and buy all their stock and starve until next pay check. Business...
