Why might a stunning girl act cold and unfriendly to everyone, but super shy and awkward around me?

I notice a lot of guys looking at her, but she comes off as unapproachable and aloof. Before we clicked, she seemed unfriendly, distant and cold.

When we started interacting, she got warmer and more spontaneous (and got a lot friendlier to everyone else, as well), but really shy around me: occasionally giving long looks and smiling & flirting, but often ignoring me and avoiding eye contact, and looking away really fast when we made eye contact.

Why might a rally attractive woman come across and really cold and distant around almost everyone, and warmer around me, but really awkward and shy around me?

Unwanted attention makes us distrust, I keep guys at a distance and when I feel I can trust them, I allow them to get closer. I have had lots of guys asking for things, but none of them really want to be my friend. I have 2 guy friends and I trust them a lot, I sometime get shy around them, because I care what they think of me. I have 2 female friends too.

I can tell she likes me and wants me to notice her, but when I hint at being interested (wanting to talk more, hang out), she pulls away and gets even more awkward. When a girl is shy/nervous and tries to get noticed, I would think hinting at being interested would give them confidence.
