Why does this shy girl act awkward around me?

I have a crush on her and she's in a class with me. I've talked to her once about school and she's shy so I kinda backed off. She never has talked in class since and whenever I see her and we make eye contact she smiles shyly and walks away. She probably knows I'm checking her out. I don't know if this smile is a stop looking at me, being friendly, or come talk to me. I saw her sitting alone at the coffee shop on campus and I wanted to sit next to her but didn't rather sat next to a friend of mine. We made eye contact once cause I got caught looking at her.

it is very normal i keep staring at a guy at university he sits near me in class but im shy total to talk its not that i like him but i find him good looking and i saw he looks my way too and this is not the only person i was shy to talk to so you should go ahead and talk to her say ho how are what is your name and then talk about class and then you can continue talking more about yourself but talk about class or school before and something like did you do the homework or dod you understand what the teacher said shy girls tend to get nervous if someone comes to you and talks to you so talking to you about something random and are really scared someone won't talk to you.

Well the reason she looks at me is that I stare at her lol I feel. I don't know why but I can't get her off my mind cause I feel she has something even though I don't know if she has a man or her name.

Its not even a direct smile its like she l starts to look away and cracks a smile. Then I tell myselfnsjes probably laughing at me cause she thinks Im not good enough. I had to make a joke to get her to talk and the convo died after a minute now she sits in the back a way from everyone.

Well I tried and she totally goes into a shell. I don't know why but I feels like a creep cause she keeps catching me and smiling. So she could laugh at me that I think I have a shot.

You need to gain her trust, and that will take time. You need to appear nice and non-threatening (and mean it!) and be patient, and maybe she'll start to let you into her world a little at a time.

In tried to make a joke to her and she laughed and joined in the convo for a second when there was three of us but when I tried to talk to her alone it was a no go. I feel creepy cause the second i walk into class I check her out then she catches me and just smiles probably laughing that I think i have a chance.

I know the frustration - this is why in every 'do guys like shy girls' question that gets asked on here I say NO. She might well like you but if you do try to approach her she goes into timid little rabbit mode and will reject you automatically in self defense. Ain't nobody got time for that.
