My school has a strict 3 strikes policy when it comes to detention do you agree with this is is it too strict?

my school has a strict detention policy that says any student reciving 3 or more detentions in a term will automatically punished with a 4 hour Saturday detention, on Wednesday i kept messing around in my English lesson my teacher arsked me several times to stop messing around or a would be punished with a regular Friday detention which lasts for 1 and a half hours, i kept messing about for in the end my teacher said NO more, ( DETENTION ) Friday 1and a half hours, it was only when the lesson that i rememberd that this was my 3rd detention and now i would get a Saturday detention, i explained this to my teacher and said how sorry i was and for her to please please let me off, she said NO i had been given many warnings so deserved detention the fact that i now had to serve a 4 hour Saturday detention has nothing to do with it.
i have just got home from serving my Saturday detention it was HORRIBLE we had to wear full school uniform , sit at our desks in TOTAL silence and write essays for 4 hours we were only allowed a 15 minute break opinions please?

You're mad about a 4 hour Saturday class? I swear they just have you do your school work and catch up in thsy lol at least at my school

I used to voluntarily go to that Saturday thing and catch up on work lol its not even a punishment
