If Tinder is considered by most, a "hookup" site, why are women on it?

When pretty much ALL of them say they don't want that. Are they lying? So they don't appear "slutty" or "desperate"? Oh the games people play lol

Two things:

1. Tinder being solely a hook-up site a myth invented by guys trying to protect their little egos after failing at getting Tinder dates. As with most disinformation, it spread quickly and somehow stuck, no matter how untrue. But let's be honest here. Anyone who, in 2021, still doesn't know plenty of people who are in or have been in serious relationships thanks to Tinder and similar apps, is either lying or living a life so isolated that it's surprising they've even heard of Tinder.

2. While it's true that a lot of women (far from "pretty much ALL" though) on Tinder have a disclaimer about not looking for hookups, what's also true is that there's a big difference between not wanting to meet guys who are explicitly only looking for casual hookups, and not being open to casually hooking up with a date. I've been on plenty of Tinder dates with women who've had that disclaimer, and I've hooked up with several of them. Not because I'm such a brilliant player. No because the date went well it one thing lead to another. More often than not, the purpose of that disclaimer is simply to avoid creepy and predatory guys. Most women definitely are open to casual hookups, if the guy is genuinely cool and the date just happens to lead to it.

Some women absolutely want to hook up, and some are merely willing to hook up because they hope it will lead to a relationship. But a LOT of the women just use it to get attention, compliments, and even money (there are simps who will Venmo cash just for some female attention).

Unless you are a top 10% guy or have a TON of game, Tinder, and really all dating apps, are a waste of your time. Go outside and meet girl in person.

Just because Tinder has that reputation you don't have to have sex with anyone.

I used it to meet people in my area. I never slept with anyone I met on Tinder but I went on a couple of dates. Also the guys I ended up seeing were also not into hook ups, if I got that impression then I wouldn't respond to them.

Everything is what we make it. That being said, I didn't have much luck finding likeminded people on Tinder... I suspect it's my fault though, I'm atypical.

Some are not lying, some girls would still give it chances to see if there are available men who wanna date > sex, which has worked for some of the people I know and they’re still happy together in a relationship/marriage. Sure it’s more known for hook up, but love can happen anywhere.

First of all you don't know ALL women to say ALL women say Tinder is a hook up app. The ones who are on there are probably there for hook ups yet those who day they aren't there for hook ups might have heard success stories from friends. It's not fair to say EVERYONE on tinder is looking for a hook up. We don't know everyone.

When I was 18 I didn’t know that tinder was a hooking site and I let it be known that I wasn’t looking for something casual but I still dated a jerk for a short time anyways. My cousin managed to find love through tinder though so that’s good. I found love through bumble though

It makes sense in evolutionary terms - he might not be a good partner, he might not be a good dad, but his genes have proven to be very successful in the given environment, so getting half of those genes into your offspring might be a good idea.

They're on there for bragging rights. A lot of them don't want to meet anybody they just want to sporadically check their profile so when they have hundreds or even thousands of guys who liked their profile it gives them validation that they're good looking and then they can show off to their girlfriends.
