How do girls react when there good males friends confess their feelings?

I am sure we have all been friends with girls in hopes of something could happen. I often wonder when a guy confesses to this girl he's stayed by her side. What generally happens? What sort of reaction to girls have? Some may laugh, some girls come across as shocked and some even withdraw from the friendship. Hell some girls just plain and simple reject them on the spot.

I have seen this happen several times in my friend circle. Usually what happened is all girls had saw this coming. No one was shocked. They did not completely end that friendship. Girls simply rejected and moved on as if nothing had happened. Guys were the one who drifted apart over the time because they could not handle the rejection. Of course this will all depend upon your friendship.
