Why can't you be honest with a man but not with a woman?

You know the saying when a woman ask you does this outfit make me look fat as a man your suppose to say no but your thinking that yes it does. Along with other instances of where its better to say no/yes than say what your actually thinking. Why can't you tell her the truth? Would women rather be lied to than told the honest truth about something? Do women think their not capable of handling such truth or is it something else?

If you want to be a traditional man (like me) then you do tell the truth OR you refuse to answer. Those are the only two options. If a woman doesn't like you telling her the truth then she should stop asking the question. And if she's not smart enough to do that or fix herself so the answer starts being the one she wants to hear then she's the wrong woman for you.

If the pants make her ass look big, I'll let her know to not wear those pants. I think it is better to offend her today but to have her know that whatever I tell her is intended sincerely and is not sugarcoated.

I remember watching a Macbeth in video form in English class, when you sugar coat your speech and use gentle and sweet body language, you could say a lot of serious things and get away with it, some say that your posture and tone of voice is more effective than what you say.
