Girls, if you are expecting and actually far enough a long that you are showing, does it bother you if someone "congratulates" you?

The reason I ask is because my mother does it all the time and it drives me NUTS! Last night was the final straw. She went out of her way to congratulate a young woman, that I thought was pregnant myself, but it turned out she wasn't! Fortunately she wasn't that pissed because she had just had a baby 6wks ago but I could tell she was irritated. So, ladies, would you mind if a crazy person said, "congratulations! I'm so happy for you"! I'm sure circumstances kinda dictate it also but I'm talking in general.

That was on a "Seinfeld" episode, where Kramer asked a lady if she was pregnant, and she wasn't.

There is a lady who I used to work with, and someone asked her "when she was due", and she wasn't pregnant. She wasn't all that bothered by it, as she did realize that she needed to lose some weight. But still...

I vaguely remember that. I do remember an episode of Family Matters, when Steve Urkle and Carl were trapped on a subway on Christmas Eve. Urkle was pissing everyone off and looked at a woman and said, "ma'am, you of all people should be over joyed on this, the eve of Christmas, since you're going to bring a new life into the world." Of course she was just fat, not pregnant.

Not if I was actually pregnant. I was always relieved to know that people didn't think I was just fat. I had a few try to be nice and say, "Omg, like... I can't even tell you're pregnant." That's insulting.

No, why would it? A pregnancy is something to be congratulated on. And if you're not pregnant and someone says this... Maybe it's time to lose weight.
