If a girl is on vacation, how much texting is too much?

We're just friends right now.

She's gonna be gone for two weeks and she just left this past Monday (visiting the parent she doesn't live with)

We normally text like 4/5 days a week and I just texted her last night for the first time since Sunday.

When should I text again? I mean, I love texting her. it makes me happy whenever we even just text and even though its just texting, its always one of the highlights of the day if we do. She's that important to me and I hate this cause I know I should limit it cause she's gone but I really wanna text her >_>

If she's gonna be gone for two weeks (Monday) and I just texted yesterday, when should it be alright to again?

You seem like a really down-to-earth guy, I like that. Not many good bros out there anymore, so I congratulate you. For reference, here are some of my personal Do's and Dont's of long distance texting:

DO text her goodmorning and goodnight. This will show her that you haven't forgotten about her while she's away (you can even make this a habit even when she is in town, but just not every night)

DONT text her every 5 minutes asking "Hey what yah doing?" This gets old FAST, no matter what gender you are.

DO text her if something important or exciting happens to you while she is gone. One of the worst things that can happen is if when she comes back she finds out from someone else, or even just you but later than when something actually happens. She'll think you don't think she would care, or that she came as an afterthought to everything that was happening to you. Neither of those are good.

DONT do things with her friends without letting her know. A simple "Hey Stacy invited me to the movies, wish you were here!" will suffice in letting her know what's up. If she comes back and finds out Stacy and you hung out and she didn't know, she may start to get suspicious (depending on how well she regards Stacy as a friend).

DO answer every single text she sends you in a timely matter. This is not being a "bitch," its just showing respect to what she has to say. Girls can get ape-sh*t crazy if you aren't replying to what they say, and if for some reason you can't answer in a timely manner when you DO get in contact with them, simply and calmly explain what was holding you up. Throw an "im sorry" in there for good measure if she seems antsy.

DONT accuse her of ignoring you if she hasn't replied to your texts. She's away, most likely she's busy doing fun things naturally, so accusing her of something like that is just asking for trouble.

DO carry on any conversations you are having, no matter how long they take.There's no time limit on a good convo. I've had conversations that last a good day and a half just through texts, and when I see the girl in person again there's nothing strange about how long we were talking. Its your girlfriend, so you know her better than anyone else.

And this is probably the best of all. DONT text her unless you have something valid to say. When I say valid, I mean content AND/OR context wise. A clear example of this would be texting "whats up?" For most people that text would be drastically lacking in content, UNLESS for your girlfriend this would fit under context (as in she would be OK with such a simple text). Its the most important, but the most confusing as well because you really just have to know the person you're dating.

Just text her whenever you feel like it. If she seems slow to respond or generally uninterested, let the conversation die and text her another day. You can ask her how her vacation is going and say that you hope she's having fun, etc. You can also tell her to text you when she's not busy so you don't feel like you're a nuisance to her.

As much as I want to text her whenever I feel like, I also feel like I shouldn't do it much just because she's gone, people use vacations to get away, and I don't wanna feel clingy

I asked her how it was going yesterday and she said like "I'm really enjoying it thanks for asking"

There's a long story between us. We've been friends for nearly two years but there's been a lot of drama.

This current texting spree has been for... about a month or so

I mean like we were texting at about this rate like a year ago, quit after a month or two cause of some drama (I asked her out after she was already dating someone even though I didn't know, she got mad, we didn't talk for a while)

I'll admit that I text her first more but she never really seems to mind. We talk pretty much until one of us falls asleep whenever we start even if its in the morning lol

It's not too soon if you guys usually text that much. Just because she's on vacation doesn't mean she's busy 24/7 and it's not like texting a nice guy is so stressful. Just text her if you want to talk to her.
