Because the most offputting thing about incels is their bitterness and insecurity, not their looks. In my experience they're like human black holes of negativity that sucks every positive intention you have towards them into oblivion just because you don't want to have sex with them. It's entitlement combined with resentment for not getting what they believe they deserve for simply existing.

I will say though that while incels' problems are mainly rooted in insecurity, this often comes as a result of their looks. Still, I've yet to see a guy who couldn't get a girl JUST because of the way he looks.

Because most times it is their personality that isn't attractive. There are a lot of unfortunate looking guys who find someone usually because they have a great sense of humor or perhaps they are attractive in other ways. It is a mixture of things, but when we see guys like Elliot Rodger who never once asked a girl out and then wondered why he never had a girlfriend, and concluded that humanity particularily women are depraved and should be turned into a mountain of skulls and rivers of blood, you got to wonder about these men's personalities. My understanding of things is that incels are people who cannot or will not take responsibility for themselves. They won't go to the gym, or work on themselves. Instead they sit where they are and get mad at the world and blame everyone else for problems that they themselves need to be fixing (obviously some things in life aren't your fault but it does not change the fact that its up to you, no one else can do it)
