Sometimes I avoid complimenting others because it sounds like a personality assessment and I think it’s condescending and belittling to behave as if your authorized to assess others.

I feel like I've gotten to the point where I wanna be because I always believed it's important and don't see the point in trying to be at the same time.

Seems like I get myself into shitty situations regardless of how I pick my words a lot of the time.

In grade school back in MY day, there was promoted a program termed "30 days to a More Powerful Vocabulary" and as anyone knows, words are much like VERBAL Crayons. Kids are foremost imaginative, experiential and visual. MOST kids start out drawing with the 8 color box of crayons or chalk and with time seek to move up to the 300 color deluxe assortment. The larger your potential CHOICE of colors, the greater subtlety and precision with which you can share your vision.

The SAME applies to One's choice of words BUT... IF to those whom you're speaking do NOT KNOW the subtleties of a wider range of word's meanings, it is as if your audience is BLIND. An uncomprehending subtlety of meaning is as if your audience is color-blind. Using a broad vocabulary is NOT taunting One's education but seeking to transfer a deeper, richer understanding; ALWAYS include the admonition that if the meaning is vague or unclear, PLEASE ask the Speaker to rephrase their meaning! Uncomprehending dialogue is JUST NOISE! Hypocrites HIDE in ambiguity.

I'm nowhere near as careful as I should probably be. My boyfriend of all people seems to take things I say in a way they weren't meant. I word things in a way that make sense to me and make it clear it isn't my responsibility for how the next person takes them.
