I think I was set up or was I just wrong in this situation?

I went out last night and after all my experiences at clubs, parties, fraternity things, etc, I've learned to just have a good time and let women come to me, and they usually do. It’s almost like they like the chase but if I try to pursue it doesn’t always work. Some girl pulled something I found weird last night. I’m dancing having good time and I guess I just felt her presence so I look at her and I assume she’s trying to get around me. I make room and motion a clear path for her. She doesn’t take it but instead starts dancing towards me. I’m like okay guess we’re doing this but then I notice she’s actually really pretty. Probably the hottest girl I’ve ever dealt with. We’re holding eachother dancing and normally I’d start a conversation but I notice she just keeps getting closer to my face (also goodness trying to have a conversation right by the music is nearly impossible) Eventually our faces touch almost like we were supposed to kiss. Our lips are right next to eachother so I go for it. We kiss for 3 seconds she pulls back and shakes her head so I’m like okay “what’s your name?” She’s like “don’t worry about it” and walks away. WTF? I know I’m wrong for kissing her but I felt set up. She was smiling about the situation. I’m assuming she was eyeing me prior but i wasn’t checking for her. She came to me, got physical with me, got in my face, so to me it was the natural next step. Is that something girls do and if so what’s the reasoning behind it?

Well, there’s a difference between dancing with a stranger and kissing her. Normally, if she really wanted a kiss she would have told you or grabbed your head and pushed towards her face. But this almost sounds like she was playing a game and wanted to remain anonymous.

I definitely agree about the difference between a dance and more. However, I’ve kissed a good amount of girls. No one’s ever asked me to kiss them or grabbed my head. Usually, that’s the sequence of events. sometimes a conversation takes place beforehand, then I go for it. Everyone’s different, but considering my past experiences, I can’t help but assume something was up.

OK, were these girls ones you had just met a minute before?

In a lot of cases yeah. Especially during fraternity parties. Girls I’d have never met before would come out the woodwork, dance face to face or grind from the back. Sometimes it’d be mutual eye contact. Eventually we just knew it was the time. No words exchanged. My recent three outings where it happened, no. I mistook a girl for someone I knew so I went up to her, apologized for the mistake, and moved on. She later grabbed me from an elevated dance floor and brought me down to her. We danced had a small convo and I knew I was pretty much in (especially since she grabbed me) and we kissed. Second girl I messed up with initially with my chat. But we kept running into eachother and I got better. She was dancing I approached her and we danced and it happened. Third girl talked to me the moment I got to the club entrance line. We talked, went in together, danced and did our thing the whole night.

So i will concede that recently, there have been convos in place. But I believe the convos were never that important because the attraction was already there.

You'll probably never get a definitive answer bt it might be as simple as two girls talking and one dares the other to do that. Or maybe she gets her jollies by setting guys up and then pulling the rug from beneath them.

Yeah she sort of did come out of nowhere. And after she went back to her friend group. She didn’t really seem to go for anyone else they all stayed together. I saw them looking jt way later but I didn’t want to stay in that area. If it was a dare I think that’s pretty childish.

She probably does that to a lot of guys. I wouldn’t over think it too much, you had a nice moment.

Yeah I had a good night in general. But It hurt because I tend not to notice girls I’d like to talk to at clubs since I’m focused on myself. I don’t know if it’s because she did that but she instantly became someone I would have wanted to go for, so it felt like I missed out. If she does that a lot, it sucks she made me feel that way.

Yeah. It was a cold thing to do. She probably likes guys chasing after her. It makes her feel good. Regardless if what it makes them feel. Just keep in mind. Not all woman are like that.
