Self-confidence boosts when I see another girl not so pretty?

I think the answer is obvious here but i feel i have to ask to find out truly. Why when i see another girl that's not so pretty (not specifically ugly/hideous) based from my own objective view, my self-confidence increases? Does this happen to other girls too, having their self-confidence boosted when they see another girl? i know this question may sound silly lol

in my opinion, it's a mix of a sense of competition and insecurity. But I don't know. I'd say mostly for me, it's competition. Maybe. But there's both.

Yeah i believe sense of competition is mostly in that case. I don't think even insecurity suits to this reason, everyone is even a little bit of self-centered and views themselves better than others. I dont mean narcissism, but you get me. NOT that i would treat so-called not so pretty girls like they're my peasants. I dont understand how insecurity could stick to this. smh

Yeah, that's the thing. I'm not 100% on the insecurity thing. Maybe there's a bit of that somewhere but it feels like I'm forcing it because it's the "wise" thing to say or whatever.

I have to admit, I did chuckle at the thought of thinking - just thinking - "out of my way, peasant" at someone I find unattractive.

how does that indicates basing my worth on others? I mean, isn't everybody deep down having thought to themselves thinking they're either prettier, smarter, etc than others?

No I don't walk around thinking I'm prettier or smarter then people I randomly pass because it dont matter to me lol that u do this shows you lack a basic level of self worth or love and allow how others think or look to be the ratting for yourself that u saw someone u claim was unattractive and it made u feel better shows what your lacking
