My best friend Naomi is in her early thirties. I have a bit of time until her birthday, but I was thinking, I have to give her something and I’m poor and trying to save money. She really wants a denim skirt but I already have some placemats for her, arty ones that she’d love. Is it ok to give them to her instead? I feel bad about not feeling like I can buy her a good bottle of wine or a denim skirt, like she wanted.

If they are sink washable but look like cloth then YES. I love mine better than my thick cardboard decorative formal dining room ones !!!
They’re arty ones. I hate them. They’re tacky (to me). Which is how I know she’ll love them. We pick what we hate for each other. Works every time.
I think it’s what they call ‘contemporary art.’ To me, The Chasers got it right with their bag of rubbish called ‘fun dip;’ that they brought in there.
But all my friends love it. That kind of art. I want to see real art. But that’s my view.
isn't is great when one has opposite taste as friends. All that crap I can't stand to see or don't like I can buy and give or "regift".
Yeah so true 😊
I think we could shop together ;-) You are very sweet and I hope she appreciates your friendship. I'm SURE she does !!
Thanks 😊
Sounds like a nice gift to me.
