Why do girls seem to try to talk to you more when you are quiet?

i dont really talk to girls because i get kinda nervous and some girls i know notice that and they try more to talk to me and are friendlier.

Maybe cause they like quiet guys and want to break the ice so are friendly. Honestly I don't know what to say if a girl started talking to me and just freak out like a deer in headlights. I noticed some girls will ignore you if you don't talk to them like think you're too good for them as well.

Because I’m shy too, I would approach other people that are being quiet. I feel less intimidated and like I can maybe relate.

Would it be awkward if the guys is still quiet after u speak? Like u ask him something and he answers and then there is silence?
