Why are feminine roles and being submissive so hated, especially by other women?

Overextrapolation. For the vast majority of human history, the realities of life forced people into strictly defined survival roles. Today, in the First World, at least, we've succeeded so much that it's almost entirely unnecessary. As the needs of petty tribalism fell away, society became more open and accepting of all sorts of "deviant" behavior, since gatekeeping wasn't a necessity anymore.

Many women began questioning why they had to maintain the house and watch the kids, especially as washing machines and microwave ovens took more and more of the labor out of home life, which is a reasonable question, and many of them began entering the work force.

Unfortunately, they soon discovered that the green isn't actually greener on the other side of the fence. Those conditions that we evolved under didn't just shape our societies, they shaped US. Few women are happy working full-time at difficult, draining jobs for their whole lives, and if there's no need, most won't- given the choice, we revert to our natures; note how the percentage of female engineers is so much lower in Sweden then in Iran. Your gender doesn't control your actions, but it DOES push you- there are certainly some women who'd be happiest being chemical engineers or CEOs or lumberjacks, and they should have those options- if they can hack it- but most wouldn't, and forcing them IN is morally no different from forcing them OUT.

A lot of women- Feminists in particular, but not exclusively- can't grasp that not everyone wants what they do, and assume that anyone who doesn't is brainwashed. The corporate world absolutely LOVES Feminism- not because of sociology or even hatred, but because doubling the size of the workforce drives wages down, so they encourage it at every step. Women, being women, are much less likely than men to question standing social narratives (any woman CAN, but few WILL), and so it goes on.

I can't help but think most women would be happier not working or at least not to the same extent men are. But ofcorse there will be a few women who do enjoy it.

And to what you said about engineers I strongly agree with which is something Jordan Peterson commented on. He said the more the freedom of choice people have the greater the differences is between the sexes. And like you said if we look at Iran that is not. that free of a country there are more female engineers in Iran than in Sweden.

Also, look at history. Before grocery stores, fast and frozen foods as well as automated canning, it took nearly a full day to prepare meals for a family and the only child care available and schooling was done from within the home.


It also took nearly an entire day to hunt meat, plow and tend to growing food and raising livestock. Surviving was a FAMILY career. EVERYONE was EQUAL. Dad did what had to be done. Mom had to do what had to be done. It wasn’t uncommon to have way more than two children to keep the family alive.


Just like now; mom had to be just as tough as dad, or tougher, if dad was killed while providing for his family or died young to disease, illness or war.


Circumstances dictated equality and inequality.


As the Industrial Revolution improved the quality of life and lightened the load for both men and women, men still were forced to do much of the physical labor while working long hours in hazardous work environments, seven days a week for little pay and no paid time off, disability pay or social security for retirement.


Then came times of Civil and World Wars. Which is when women were forced out of necessity to enter the workforce and do the work of men while raising the kids.


If men came home from defending our freedoms, they still had to work in the same conditions as they had before. Which allowed women to go back to their regular FEMININE roles and for a family to eat healthy; it still took time to prepare proper and nutritious meals and run the household.


But these same women realized that they enjoyed the stereotype of “Rosie the Riveter”.


Then the world evolved so a woman could take a Saturday and run down to Safeway to get a week’s worth of food full of preservatives, and it no longer took a full day to prepare meals and daycare became popular. Then came Mc Donalds. So now women had more free time, and instead of staying home and screwing the pool boy/milk/mailman; they chose to re-enter the workforce.


Now, all of a sudden, a family had two incomes. Now, there goes inflation and now it takes two incomes for a family of four to barely make ends meet. How does that effect inflation, two incomes bought more goods faster than they could be produced.


Now society is forced to embrace feminism.


But some women still choose to embrace their femininity. They choose not to entrust their childcare to strangers. And…. you just have some that are either lazy or just spoiled.


It is femininity that attracts 99% of men. Not too many men want to marry a woman that can run through more cans of dip than they can, or have an EQUAL amount of body hair.


Some men were raised by feminine mothers and that is all they know and seek out.


So if a woman chooses to be a feminist and burn their bra, so be it. No reason to hate on them. The world just continues to evolve.

Personally those roles just aren't all for me. I don't mind doing most of the cooking and cleaning; it's just how I was raised. However I don't relish the idea of someone providing everything for me when I feel I have so much I can contribute to my partner and to a career.

I believe that every single person should have the right to choose their roles. If the submissive role works for you and you're happy, then that's wonderful. I'm not out to shame someone for it so long as I'm not shamed for the role I chose.
