My girlfriend wants to feel validated from other people other than me, should I be bothered?

My girlfriend and I were having this conversation on how we feel validated as individuals. I told her that I personally feel validated when she compliments me and shows me affection. On the other hand, she told me that she feels validated when she gets compliments from other people other than me. I felt weird because she later said that she feels bothered when her friends whom she considers prettier than her gets all the attention and she gets nothing. Should I be worried?

Its not a red flag, she is just very insecure, and has low self-esteem. The problem with looking for validation from other people, its just a bottomless pit, the person is never happy until they get compliments.

And so as the compliments stop, or someone says something negative, they crumble.

Your girlfriend needs help with improving her self-esteem, and believing in yourself, that is good enough, and prettier enough.

Getting compliments is nice, but we shouldn't rely on them purely for our confidence and self-esteem, that should come from what you think of yourself.

The saying goes, if you care others think of you, you become their prisoner.

Well, let's put it this way... if your girlfriend told you you're the most good looking guy she ever dated or you're the best at something.. But then when you meet other people they're totally not fazed by you!.. it's gonna bother you and you're probably gonna care more about their opinion 🤷‍♂️..
